Should all this just be legal?

People said that Colorado stuff would never be legal, and look where we are now (edited just in case we can't even mention that stuff).

The difference is that people on both sides of the aisle have issues with prostitution. The morals police don't like it in general. The blue side wants to avoid any possibility of coercion -- not just sex trafficking but economic hardship as an incentive.

It is legal in many other countries, but some are tightening the rules. For example, Germany made almost all prostitution legal. Brothels, sex clubs, gang bang parties, and escort agencies. But this year they clamped down on it by requiring all sex for money to include the use of condoms, and all prostitutes who work out of a fixed address have to register with the government. So it's changing.

But relaxing the rules and either decriminalizing it or even legalizing certain aspects while keeping other parts (like pimping) illegal could be on the horizon.

The government never wants to shrink, regardless of the party's perceived ideations. Shrinking offices means shrinking budgets. It's the same reason marijuana likely won't ever be legal on the Federal level. Ya know how much money the DEA would lose if they had to stop enforcing weed laws?

Legalized hobbying works well in NV, why can't it work elsewhere? It will never be perfect, but we can do better than we are right now.

Maybe the DEA would have to force a few workers into early retirement. Boo hoo. Use the money to go after bigger problems like sex trafficking. Or the really scary, lethal drugs that kill people.
Glad to hear that NV is doing a good job. Anyone know what the market is like there? Is government setting the fees? Lol. Do ladies pay taxes?
So if they don't use a condom, they get in trouble? I bet those law enforcement men want to be on that "task force" to be sure ladies are following the law!
It's an interesting subject. I bet we won't see any public service announcements urging people to vote for legalization

The difference between this and staff edit is the level of support. staff edit is a divisive issue (the left generally favors it, and the right generally abhors it) so its legalization was a matter of debate. This, on the other hand, is abhorred by both sides, so there is no debate. Any legislation favoring the legalization is ALWAYS instantly shot down by both parties.

The only way for this to be even considered for legalization is if libertarianism grows enough to compete with liberalism and conservatism. The last couple of years have seen a massive growth in libertarianism, but it's still just a drop in the bucket.

Of course prostitution should be legal.Supply and demand ensures it will always exist so bring it into the open and make it a legit source of income for the ladies. Instead of costing the taxpayer to "enforce" the laws, providers would pay taxes just like anybody else.

Legislating morality is bullshit. As long as both parties involved are consenting adults and nobody is hurt it should not be against the law.
