With all due respect ... I've NEVER "hung my hat" on stats ....
... even a year ago re the 2016 Presidential election!*
*And I will dig the posts up if you doubt what I just posted.
In fact, above, I explained the issues with stats.*
*Which I also did a year ago.

Not asking, but I don't recall seeing, but if you ever have to deal with it, then if I were you I would make my first stop after being told you may have cancer .... M.D. Anderson in Houston.

I admire John McCain formhis courage in his military service, and for the courage he is showing in this episode in his life.
I have known 2 people who died from this very cancer. It's in his brain, it will branch out, and invade brain tissue, just like a stroke. The results are the same.
Depending on what part of his brain it hits first, he will become steadily incapacitated. He is a sitting US Senator. At what point does someone step forward and say that he can not be making important decisions with his very thought process being affected by this terrible malignancy.
It will not be pretty in the end. He will be put on drugs to stop the seizures that will result as the tumor grows. These effect everything about a person's thought process.
If they use radiation, it's the same thing. This thing is in his brain.
There is so little Survival Rate in persons over 60 that it's considered terminal in less than 12 months, regardless of treatment options.

Except that the term "carpetbaggers" also includes Yankee "entrepreneurs" who rented seized plantations with slaves from the Federal government and exploited those slaves for personal profit for the duration of the war in the exact selfsame fashion that Southern plantation owners had done before the war -- except that Yankee soldiers with rifles and bayonets; not Southern slave patrols -- insured that slaves remained on the plantations and in the fields.

Everything anyone else would, plus they have experimental "treatments" with "studies" because they are a research hospital.
They are incredible.
With respect to the topic ... a friend of mine was just evaluated post brain cancer treatmentS and he's "clean" ... with no signs of the "doom and gloom" anecdotally reported ... even on this thread. I know him, and I know his attitude. I also know he went directly to MDA and didn't get sidetracked with the "egos" out there who pretend to be oncologists, who claimed to have "studied" there ... I'd rather have the PROFESSOR and his RESEARCH TEAM ... as opposed to an intern "graduate" of 10 years or even 20 years ago.

As I mentioned, stats have to be examined.

BTW .. there are some "myths" about MDA ... that deter people from seeking their help early on. In the past they have had PR issues regarding attracting minorities into their programs to the point they installed a "department/section" to "recruit" minority patients into their facility with "fast track" processing. The lady who headed that "section" was great about following through.
If one is a Texas resident it would be neglectful not to go, and they attract patients world wide.
