Thank you OP for asking. For me lots of reasons. Long story short: questions, fear, curiosity, lust. My questions have mostly been answered. The fear still lingers. And I am just as curious and lustful as ever.
I've been married for 27 years. I love my wife, but we're both in our mid 60s. Neither of us is a sexy physical specimen. My wife would be happy enough if she never had sex again. She will have sex with me once a week, but only because she knows I want it, and she loves me.
I didn't want to get too long winded about it.

My reasons for hobbying:
-takes less time than dating. I just don't have the time to date. I came to that realization after the last gf. Maybe when the kids get a bit older.
-I don't have the game to have FWB, though I wish I did.
-I am still human! Though I don't have the time to date, sometimes it really fucking sucks! It's nice and therapeutic to play now and then.
And that's it.

This! I have no game either. I don't even understand how I got my wife in the first place. Series of fluky circumstances. Which is a part of the reason why I held on to her in the early days - lack of game to catch something else.
Always joke with her that nothing can happen to her cause then I would die alone.
Now that I discovered hobbying, if something happened to her, at least I would have that to turn to. And I would be more than fine with that.
