Time will tell but I hope that Trump's picks will follow the general philosophy he layed out if not the crazy specifics like building a wall. That is a stupid and impossible idea.
But what is NOT an impossible idea is merely returning to the immigration enforcement policies we always had until the 1990s. It's a great idea to put employers in jail who hire illegals. It's a good idea to deport anyone not here legally.
It's a good idea to return to the kind of trade regimes we had in the past and end these insane trade deficits. It's a good idea to lower corporate taxes to the levels all other industrial powers have and make our corporations repatriate their earnings. It's a good idea to kill these ISIS assholes aggressively.
And here's another good idea. Let's stop this "one China" policy bullshit that caused us to throw a democracy like Taiwan under the bus in favor of a communist tyranny on the mainland who needs us much more than we ever will need them. Without us the communist chinese and their billionaire politbureau members operating their workers paradise while they drive around in Lamborginis will implode overnight.
Trump is right to take phone calls from the Prime Minister of Taiwan and if the communists in Beijing don't like it tell them to fuck off. They don't fucking tell us who we can talk to or not talk to.
