haha--you could have also read it as 50% off pasties! Now THAT would be a fun night at the burleyque! And you read it that way because your clock is wound tight with a perverted tick!

You know, UC, Dallas and I are going to get VERY CLOSE in January when she comes to KC. So, what if we all went out for BBQ, and after dinner, we make my Candi Box dessert? (wink, wink)

You know, I'm afraid that the Wizard's ticker would shoot springs all over my bedroom if I snapped my Stop the Clock special on him. I can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'...but can he?

I like little mom'n'pop hole in the wall joints... a lot of them are very underrrated. Two of my favs are a Malaysian restaurant up north called Malay Cafe. It's very authentic and the family that runs it are really nice.
The other is Holy Land Cafe in OP. Best middle eastern food I've EVER had and I've had some great middle eastern meals in a couple of countries. Their Chicken Shwarma is cheap and simple but absolutely incredible.

I just might have to take you to the Peachtree Buffet. Soul food done right! Catfish, fried chicken, collard greens, cabbage, black eyed peas, candied yams, peach cobbler. We'll get you on that Highway to Hell via a heartache! |

OK.....some of my faves. Like Dallas, I'm more of a 'redneck foodie,' so we'll go that way.
Best burgers - Westport and Grandstand.

Best fried chicken - Berbiglia's Roost at 87th and Metcalf, in the old Fuddrucker's. New place, barbecue is lame but the chicken is great.

Best Barbecue - other than what comes off of MY smoker - Brobeck's at 103rd and Roe.

Best "modern" Barbecue - Blind Box in Shawnee. Good Q with some unique dishes.

Best Plain Old Taco - Ponak's on Southwest Boulevard

 Best Italian - Jasper's

				 BBQ

The closest I have found to good ol Texas BBQ is at Winslows on the river market. They don't sauce their meats. Just a good rub. The stuff makes me think of home. I am from southeast Texas. So Dallas that is the place you should try out.
