Anyone else having A LOT of HS aged (and above) candy hunters tonight? After the first 30 minutes, probably 1/2 (or more) of mine were (to me) much too old for this activity. Old, yes - but this is to me is for KIDS, not young adults.....

I don't do Halloween at home anymore for this very reason. I volunteer my time at various locations such as retirement homes, etc. where young kids come through in great costumes and both the tenants and the kids have a blast.

Be careful before you judge. I was first accused of being too old to trick or treat at the ripe old age 11.... I was a big athletic kid in the fifth grade. I had one that came through that I thought was a bit old tonight, but I'm ready for everybody. I have waters, soda, beer, wine, and mixed drinks if I like you as an adult and goobs of candy for the kids of all ages! One of my favorite nights of the year.

Some had more facial hair than I; many were in groups - admitted to be in HS. 2 gals could have passed as hookers (by outfits); I didn't ask them their age (or rates).....

I don't care how old they are. As long as they show up in costume and say trick or treat, they're getting some candy.

THIS! Yes, the spirit of Halloween should carry on into adulthood until we are too tired to go out. Then we turn on our porch lights and spend the rest of our Hallow's Eves paying it forward.

Don't you remember being young and loving seeing people of all ages dressed in costume going up and down the street? Take all the older participants away and lose half the excitement...

Nope, when I was young and going for this only OTHER YOUNGSTERS were out there; adults were escorting them - ONLY - not also dressed up for free candy.

We live in a whole different world than you did when you were in your younger years.

Did I have older trick-or-treaters? Yup! Did I have some who didn't say thank you? Yup! Did I let it bug me? Nope! I was glad they came to the door because I did not want to be stuck with a huge bowl full of chocolate delicious~ness to devour while binge watching Game of Thrones. :-)

Stop being a grinch! Enjoy the night! I have goodies for little babies up through scotch drinking grandfathers. Seriously if $30 for candy once a year hurts your feelings turn off your porch light and save everyone the trouble.

Just for reference i spent about $400 last night and had a great time with the neighbors, and all the random strangers in the hood as well. I have the most popular garage and driveway you have ever seen on Halloween! At least for six years running.

Sometimes people engage in activities that help induce feelings of being young again - or that bring back memories of happy times. For some - it's going to a concert and throwing back drinks all night. For another, it may be spending an hour at the trampoline park jumping along side your kids, or taking a belly dancing class with some girlfriends. Perhaps signing up for jiu jitsu, or playing hooky from work and randomly going on an out of town adventure. You might say hobbying, for some, helps keep participants young at heart.

For others - it's dressing up and going trick or treating.

If you're willing to spend the money on treats - and it's warming someone's heart - why should it matter how young or old that heart happens to be?

People of a certain age can engage in whatever activities they desire, but for THIS night they can take their asses to a party or club, and buy their own damn candy. End of story.

Bah! Humbug!

Ooops. 2 months early for that! But it's coming soon enough.

Trick/treaters come and go in my 'hood. Some from nearby neighborhoods, some from within.

Most of the younger kids came around just before dusk, and then the entire street drove off to a common party at the clubhouse, to which we adults had contributed all sorts of stuff, little bags of MMs, tattoos, whistles, thumb locks, bloody stickons, etc. The kids had a great time going "station to station" collecting goodies, and we also served hot dawgs and frozen ices.

Even the adults had a blast, costumed or not.

I got a 27 year old I had to find an apartment, pay a months rent and security deposit, drive him over, say, here is where you live now, congrats on moving out on your own, and drive away real quick.

I got a 23 year old that's next.

Who the fuck cares about a couple candy bars.
