Some of you may be unaware of the Walmart Shoot out

This last Sunday (11 Sep, 16) two men accosted a woman trying to put her baby into a car seat. They started the conversation by hitting her in the head. It is unknown (it has not been made known by the authorities who are sitting on their asses and any information) why they chose her; carjacking, kidnapping, robbery, rape, or murder but they chose her. A good samaritan got out of his car and tried to intervene only to be shot multiple times by one of the two perps. A second samaritan seeing this came out of his car and raised his handgun. He shot and killed the gun toting perp. The other fled into the nearby wooded area of Shawnee, KS. Someone, recently as this very Sunday asked why I needed to carry a weapon and here is the perfect answer. You never know when you'll need it to protect yourself or some woman and her child. If you carry, then carry all the time. Practice, remain calm, and hit your intended target. The local press is looking into whether the shooting was justified or whether the permits were all in order and all laws were being obeyed. No information yet on the criminal's permits and paperwork. The national press has been a little slow on picking up this story.

Was in south KC. Police were called to the location 214 times in '15, and over one hundred this year.

Actually it was not south KCMO, it was Shawnee in KCK. For those of you not fluent with the small municipalities that make up Kansas City. Shawnee is fairly affluent and the Walmart itself is very near the 435 go around in Kansas. This Walmart (unlike the one at Blue Ridge) is not considered "ghetto" by the employees. Since the Walmarts have cameras all over their parking lots....you have to wonder where the security tape is at.

It was picked up nationally. It just took a couple of days and they are very slow to acknowledge the concealed carry aspect of the story.

No, that's my whole point. It actually happened so it gets fifteen minutes of local news, instead of fifteen days on CNN and everyone who is interviewed mentioned gun control. They find the shooters manifesto and the shooters Facebook page and they interview the shooters family and friends and on and on which is how the media reports phony baloney shootings.
