It doesn't take age to know good music. The Beatles are timeless. Be it a 21 yr old (like myself) or a 50 year old. If you weren't a fan, you probably wouldn't know who sir Paul McCartney was. So like you said, depends on the youngster.

Um, true. With the proviso that if you are my age (by way of reference, I was 6.5 years old when the Beatles first hit the US scene in 1963) the music of the Beatles is literally the soundtrack of your life (at least that part of your life that counts ), so someone my age can't not know the Beatles and their oeuvre (you may not like it, but by Gawd have to know it); that wouldn't necessarily be true for a 21 year old. Now a 21 year old who's a musician or a true music fan... certainly (and I applaud you for your cultural awareness); maybe you would be an exception to that rule (but then again, you know Sir Paul and his career, it seems, so you really aren't an exception).

As long as we're on the topic (i.e., the old geezer is digressing, so just bear with him), My Great And Good Friend and I got in on the last weekend of the Beatles exhibit at the Mississippi Grammy Museum in Cleveland, MS, a few weeks ago. The gift shop at the museum was clearing out its Beatles merch in preparation for the next exhibit (Stevie Ray Vaughan, IIRC), and I bought my infant granddaughter a Beatles onesie (all black, with "The Beatles" logo in white). I was a little nervous that my daughter wouldn't appreciate it, but she loved it. Obviously, her mother and I raised her right.
