This is AWESOME! A very accurate portrait of where we are, how we got here, where we are headed and what we can do to change things. Excellent video! Very thought provoking.

It describes why our system of capitalism is not working and will eventually collapse. Did you know banks create money out of thin air? The Fiat money system is mostly a debt system and actually worth nothing at all. Eventually, it will crash. It's much better to have gold on hand! I watched the entire documentary last night and learned a lot.
See articles below about how banks create money out of think air. The problem is the media does not want the public to know about it.

This is a point to ponder. I remember when I watched the version of Startrek with Captain Pacard they didn't use money. Had no need for it. Everyone was given what they needed according to their need. They chose the career of their choice and went to that form of schooling or college for free. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our society was like that? What if we did away with money and society was given what they needed according to their need?

You should market that fairy dust you're snorting. You'd make a fortune. Why was your boy Bernie kicked out the hippie commune, little girl? The answer is, Bernie's contribution in sweat-equity to their tiny socialist society wasn't equal to what he was being given for his "needs." Bernie was told to move on because their barter-and-trade society couldn't afford to carry his dead weight indefinitely.

It's never been tried so you don't know if it would work. Our current system isn't working, that's for sure. We need a system that works for the whole of society, or the majority, not just for a few at the top, don't you agree?

Of course I know banks create money out of thin air. Who the hell doesn't?
The US government also creates money out of thin air, and that is the only way to pay all the freeloaders without raising my taxes.

Wrong. It has been tried, and that period in European history was called the "Dark Ages". Barter and trade encumbers and retards commerce and economic growth. Money facilitates commerce and economic growth.

Money? Are you talking about the "Fiat" system of money? I don't think so. That's why the economy is crashing right now. The Fiat system of money is worthless. It has to crash eventually. Watch The Four Horsemen and you will see what I am talking about. Our current system will fail and it is failing.
I am not saying a barter system is the best way. What I am saying is something has to change. Maybe changing the tax code like this:

Adios!

So this is OUR system of capitalism. What about everyone else's. They in danger of collapsing as well? Capitalism is what it is. There is no ours or their's.
By the way, banks DO NOT create money. In our country it is printed by the Federal Reserve which is neither. It is one private bank that prints our money and then sells it to the banks that we do business with. It is so important to get the details correct SS.
Speaking of details; it is Star Trek (two words) and Captain Picard. Pacard is a misspelled car brand. I guess you didn't watch too closely. What you say it not true or even close to truth. Take Star Fleet. Not everyone got in. According to you everyone who wants to go to Star Fleet Academy can. No, only some people got into Star Fleet. In the original Star Trek, 80% of the action took place on the ship which I assume would be a cashless society. So that does not help your assertion at all. If they didn't understand the value of money and/or barter then why was the Enterprise being held up all the time for some dilithium crystals? It means that the Federal PAID for that dilithium with something. Remember the miners and Harry Mudd. They were going to get rich (how do you do that without money?) by mining dilithium.
I would say by this point your understanding of Star Trek is about as bad as your understanding of banking or economics.

In October, 1929, the U.S. was on the gold standard when the Great Depression hit. So your belief that "specie" has some immutable value that doesn't change with the whims of the people who ascribe value to it -- the same as they do with fiat money -- is preposterous.

I've seen this documentary before and it's fantastic and in my opinion quite accurate. Unfortunately the America we all were born and raised in is finished.

Glad you liked it. Maybe if some of these other dumbos would actually watch it, they would be enlightened too. Look at this article I found on progressive taxation and tell me what you think. I think it's a good idea.

Yes. They need to take a look. It is excellent. JD needs to google "fractional reserve banking".
This isn't Alex Jones, people. These are people who were in the game, and they're exposing it. It is worth the watch.
Thank you, Sue!
