It looks like SL may be winning as the lack of post, clicks, and whispers is now passing along the message of the KC Mods are censoring the boards in KC and it's not right.

Do you think he's winning?

Do you think that pointing someone who says negative comments about the Mods is a fair practice?

Do you think that they(the Montards) should be able to erase posts, close threads, and rule with intimidation vs allowing a discussion to take it's course while offering some guidance.

Depends on what they say. But it's my understanding that points are for guidelines violations. I know that all of mine have been.

No. But they don't. For erasing, provide examples (other than guidelines violations), for closing threads - yes, especially those that have been hijacked.

Is the ghost of SL "winning"? Not at all--the best one could saw with regard to SL and this board, is that he went on a vacation. The worst is that he went fleeing in fear and terror to sulk in the corner. The truth is likely in between.

But is the board worse off because he is not flooding it with a pre-teen temper tantrum? No, not at all.

It does seem to be a community that was too easily silenced and SL did a pretty good job of taking control of the subject matter and major topics of discussion.

Even though he is currently not posting as "Still Looking" his presence is felt in more than one market as a result of the dynamics of his contributions.

It's always that way with some members. One does not rise to being one of the most prolific posters or top reviewers that brings needed information to the boards without having both supporters and protagonists that continue to talk about them long after they are gone.

I think his posts made a lot of people pause and think. Some realize they had become mindless sheep accepting what they were fed. That Staff was too narrowly interpreting guidelines and applying them in a manner that did lead to censorship and unfair practices.

What we are left with are a few of the more dynamic members and the Staff and examples of the problems that infect the community become easier to spot.

Over time we will see others return as well as new voices and hopefully we will see some new local participation that will have learned there is a lot more they can say and that boundaries can be pushed.

This is new to the members here but not new to the boards. In every community there is a good bit of Houston waiting to be woke up!
