Spurs rodeo road trip kicks off. They are predicted to go 7 and 1.
Despite what happens, can we beat the likes of Golden State in a series or Cleveland this year?

For sure! But this all relies on a few speculations on my part.
Speculation Number 1, Lamarcus Aldridge scoring heavily on Draymond Green who is Golden State's best defender. Aldridge in Portland was known for his Nowitzki/Olajuwon Dream Shake shot which is basically "unguardable" but I don't know why he hasn't been putting those shots this season. I'm hoping he's saving that up for the playoffs when the Spurs usually go insane during.
Speculation Number 2, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green need to play their elite level of defense on limiting the efficiency scoring a of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. If Curry and Thompson can be limited to poor field goal percentages (good luck on that, I know), then Golden State is going to be presented with some spacing problems for the rest of the team.
I'm no Popovic though, so who knows.

Those are good points.
I'm worried about the bench this year. GS, if we meet them in the West Finals, can we score on them with our bench and hold them to limited points. They had the best bench D and O this season leading to many double digit wins.

I hope you're wrong about Golden State's bench, but can you find the link that talks about them having the best bench D and O?
I haven't done my homework on their bench and mainly know about ours only. I just know that if the Spurs bench were starters on another team that that team would be able to qualify for the playoffs, so I bet San Antonio's bench is pretty bomb as well with veterans like Manu, David West, Andre Miller, Kevin Martin (the new Spurs shooter who takes on Belinilli's shooting role), Diaw (don't forget what he did to GS when the Spurs won), and the great giant Marjanovic who can score in the paint so easily. Again, this last paragraph isn't an argument, but just a blank statement, but send me a link that describes the GS bench having that #1 D and O if you can find it.

Here's one, from December this season...
http://www.todaysfastbreak.com/from-...5-bench-units/
After regular season, Spurs came out ahead. Ws are still top 5.
http://www.hoopsstats.com/basketball...s/16/7/eff/7-1
Just last year Warriors were ranked 1st however, and their bench has not changed since getting their ring.
Still can't count them out as most playoff rotations are reduced to 7 or 8 players. Which means our bench guys will need to be not only productive against 2 or 3 bench guys of GS, but also against the likes of their Starters assuming we meet in the WCF. Key is, getting there first!

You're right. You can't count out GS's bench against the Spurs's bench. A good part of my assumptions depend on match ups. One of the reasons why Andre Miller was brought into the team was because of his, not just play making, but his great defensive history. Hopefully that will limit Sean Livingston's efficiency when he could be guarded by Miller. Marjonovic should get more minutes to watch out for Ezili. Manu will have to be that amazing playmaker and clutch guy if needed. Kevin Miller will have to shoot like he's been able to in the past. And Diaw will need to bring that same mojo when SA beat GS this year.

Also, last thing (for now), doesn't this year's playoffs remind of the 2003 one when the Spurs beat the all-mighty Lakers in the WCF? Kobe vs the Spurs... Curry vs the Spurs. I don't know, but the storyline is close...

Will be an interesting series of match ups and chess tactics for sure if the series goes down. Will need to advance past Round 1 and 2 first.
Probably won't see much of either teams bench except maybe 3 or 4 guys on each team. Manu, Mills, West and Diaw might be all from us as you will likely only see Iggy, Barbosa and Livingston from theirs late in games.
Tony Parker will be a huge X Factor for us to win a series like this one and will need him to put pressure on GS defense which could turn into putting pressure on GS to perform even better on the offensive end where they struggle if the other team sets the tone/pace, while you also hope to win in 6 games as a 7th game at Oracle would not be something I'd be looking forward to in hopes of getting to the Finals.

So the playoffs are officially starting for the Spurs with us up against OKC. Lol, can hardly call the Memphis series a round. Will see what we are truly made of here in Round 2.
How many games will it take to advance past Durant and company? Or will they take us?

Right now, Spurs are schooling OKC bigtime. Spurs firing on all thrusters. OKC not the Thunder we are used to seeing. Kawhi gets some credit for that, shutting down Westbrook.
I don't see the rest of the series going like this, but it is a really nice start.
