i never said i favored the tea party. idiot. the size and sheer waste of the government is obscene. you could fire a third of the government and it easily would be able to handle government affairs. there's a lot of redundancy and overlap. getting rid of that would be a good start.
i don't think the USA should be the "world cop" but we do have commitments in NATO, to Japan, South Korea and elsewhere. what do you think would happen if the US pulled out of South Korea? do you think North Korea wouldn't eventually attack? they would, even if China told them not to and wouldn't support them. South Korea's army is about 500,000 active duty, North Korea's over twice that size at 1.1 million. on paper that's a huge advantage. in terms of readiness and equipment not so much as North Korea's equipment is very dated while South Korea's is more modern due clearly to the South's prosperity.

Although the North Korean military once enjoyed a startling advantage against its counterpart in South Korea, its relative isolation and economic plight starting from the 1980s has now tipped the balance of military power into the hands of the better-equipped South Korean military.
[20] In response to this predicament, North Korea relies on
asymmetric warfare techniques and unconventional weaponry to achieve parity against high-tech enemy forces.
[20] North Korea is reported to have developed a wide range of technologies towards this end, such as
stealth paint to conceal ground targets,
[34] midget submarines and
human torpedoes,
[35] blinding laser weapons,
[36] and probably has a
chemical weapons program and is likely to possess a stockpile of chemical weapons.
[37] The Korean People's Army operates
ZM-87 anti-personnel lasers, which are banned under the
United Nations Protocol on Blinding Laser Weapons.

who says you can't have a small federal government and still have a well equipped Military? we already outspend several the of the largest military budgets of other nations combined.
we don't need to be spending that huge amount of money on the Military. our defense spending equals that of the next highest budgets from 2nd (China) down to 11th (Brazil) combined.

honoring alliances and treaties is one thing, running around being "World Cop" is completely different and we shouldn't be doing it.
