1. I am not in oil and gas.

2. Houston is an oil and gas driven economy. The trickle down effect of a slow down in that industry affects the rest of the Houston economy, including service trades, construction, retail, home prices, etc.

3. I use 20 gallons of gas per week. $3.00 per gallon - $1.50 per gallon x 20 gallons per week = $30 per week savings. Whoopie!

4. I now work fewer hours than before the drop in gas prices, so it has a net negative effect on my available leisure funds.

Now some posting on here might believe since "you've cut back" on your hours, you can increase your hourly rate. On other other hand, if they believe that explaining it would be a waste of time.

I assume you are just being funny and don't really have a view that naive and simplistic.

Let's say your clients are not in O&G; maybe they run or work for a restaurant, retail store, service business or anything else that comes to mind. Suddenly, a large portion of their clients have less to spend because they are in O&G. Still doesn't affect anyone who isn't in the business directly? When the O&G business catches a cold...all of Houston sneezes.

Yep. However, every one of those buildings was designed over two years ago. Ask any architect how busy they are now, compared to then. When those buildings are complete, it will be a while before any new ones are designed and built. A glut of office space is just around the corner.

Ok then... Just go to the Houston Permitting Center, and tell me how slow it is there.

I bet the houston rodeo wont suffer that removes all theories... Also if it is that bad why is exxon hiring thousands dor that new construction? According to your reviews you see alot of providers maybe you have a personal problem.

OK, Y'all win. Not worth the effort to post on this anymore. Go argue among yourselves.

Sorry I even started this thread.

It's your agenda... Your line of work... Not everyone is in that field. My brother is, he took a hit in pay but is still doing well.
