I'm not sure why a guy would make a choice to see someone that does not turn him but it possibly has to do with wanting the right stimulus to get the most bang for his buck.
There are a few providers around here that most definitely should offer some sort of visual stimulation to compensate for their shortfalls.

First if it's going to cost you $260 (possibly 1/2 that) and you're going to need a blindfold, some freezer gloves, and great porn with unobtainable actress Caprice, why bother? The Caprice video and some lube will leave you enough to buy a couple of nice bottles (or 5) of Booker's.

Agree. If I am paying top dollar for a session with a hot provider, the last thing I want is to be distracted by some actress on TV. I want to concentrate on giving and receiving pleasure from the lady with whom I am seeing, not some actress faking it for the camera. Exceptions noted above, could be nice, but I just want to focus on the live ladies--porn is for when there are no real women available.
Same is now starting to apply somewhat to doubles sessions--one lady at a time without distractions is very nice; although, four hands stroking all over my body does give me pause and lots of excitement--may need to think about this some more, and line up some hot doubles sessions to test my theory.

I used to see a provider that had porn playing. I never really paid it attention because it looked like one of those 6 hr compilation DVDs of bad 90's VHS porn. Haha! Occasionally I would glance up and try and imitate a move or two.

Different strokes for different folks.
I knew a couple that were swingers and they asked me to be the third wheel. She was hot any way you slice it. No porn needed to turn me on.
We had some drinks and they turned on some good str8 porn. I'm not a porn guy but at the time it was cool, set the mood and we had a blast.
With regard to a provider, give the customer what he wants. Customer Service is king and all.
