The United States has the highest gun ownership rate in the world and the highest per capita rate of firearm-related murders of all developed countries.

The U.S. is NOT Honduras, El Salvador, Ivory Coast, or Jamaica. Ever been to any of those countries? I've been to Jamaica, Panama, and Costa Rica. No way comparable. Try comparing homicide rates in the U.S. to other DEVELOPED countries countries -- Canada, Australia, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, etc. Then tell us we don't have a problem in the U.S.

District of Columbia v. Heller confirmed WombRaider's statement. It affirmed the right of an individual to own firearms for self-protection. It did NOTHING to impact the ease of obtaining them other than that. For example, the decision had no impact to the ease of obtaining a gun in N.Y. Still very difficult, before and after the decision.

I would agree with your statement that 80 million law-abiding gun owners every infringed on any of my rights simply by owning a gun. However, they may impact my rights when they do something stupid with them.

Of course it's normal to have onlookers walking around while a news team is filming. But that's only normal when a news team is aware of people in the vicinity of the filming and you can bet they are fully aware of what's around them. If you go back and view the original video you'll notice the cameraman is filming what's below the deck. He pans his camera in all directions to give viewers a good overall idea of what Bridgewater Plaza looks like. You should notice there is absolutely no activity what so ever. No cars in the parking lot, no people walking around. Then a figure shows up on the deck. None of the three show any signs through eye contact or any other body language that another person is in their presence. The shooter approaches way to close to the filming for the three to behave so oblivious. Doesn't make sense to me.

The problem is the lack of respect for human life.
Just look at how many were killed in the 9/11 attacks, all done without any guns.
Look at the Oklahoma City bombing. done without any guns.
Look at the Sarin gas attacks on the Tokyo subway system, all done without guns.
Look at the man driving his car mowing people down killing a number of people all done without guns (California)
Look at the uni-bomber, no guns there either.

Gun violence. Look at Ruby Ridge, look at Waco.

We have spent the last few generations failing in educating our children in understanding what respect is. the idea that punishing unacceptable behavior damages the self esteem is a crock of shit.Unfortunately it would take a good two parent family to make those things happen and our government encourages and supports single parent and in some cases forces a single parent home via the welfare system.
