First Time In KC

Ive never been to kansas city before, can someone please tell me what types of foods I should try while im around?

But that is what we are famous for. Everything else you can get anywhere. So, no matter what DallasRain tells you about Texas having the better BBQ, don't believe her, she lies (Love you Dallas).

Only other place I really, REALLY enjoy eating is when Dinning at the Y. This area has the best places to eat out.

Strouds (there are two of them) are famous for their fried chicken. When Obama was here he sent someone into Oklahoma Joes for BBQ on his way to the airport. He was at Gates but the local media people made fun of him for going with the chains. Town Topic burger is nationally recognized for their hamburgers of course.

Yeah, I forgot about Strouds. Obama used them to cater his crew once but he didn't eat it. LOL. Oklahoma Joes is now "Joes of Kansas City". I think they changed their name in other cities to "Joes of City Name" too. Yes, Joes is a great BBQ place.

Since we're talking BBQ, what about Famous Daves? There's also a spot in Overland Park called Burnt Ends that's pretty good.

Chubbys on Broadway in the Plaza area has great breakfast!

Because Famous Daves is disgusting, is a chain restaurant, and isn't KC bbq.

BTW, I don't recommend Rib Crib either.

Famous Dave's isn't bad if you are stuck in Branson and that's the only BBQ place in town. In KC, it's not even in the top 20. I don't even know what a Rib Crib is. LOL

Sounds like a good reason not to eat BBQ in Branson. Rib Crib is the applebee's of bbq.

it's all about personal preference. I'm not a fan of Arthur Bryant's, but I don't chose to slam them.
