That's the way it us for any message board on any topic anywhere on the Net.
I read an article about this, and the numbers are astounding. Something like 90-10, lurkers to regular posters.
Some message boards, if you are signed in, will show you the usernames of those reading that thread as well as "guests." The guests far outnumber all the other usernames put together on every message board I belong to.
Apparently there are not as many blowhards as we think...

It's amazing that the personal attacks continue.
Individuals share or they don't! So what!
Individuals that constantly criticize but don't contribute? Open game and can expect a backlash from others! But members who do contribute, and I don't mean reviews alone, don't deserve unwarranted attacks!
Lets stay focused! Contribute or not that is up to the individual but attacking Newbies and criticizing those that do post ... yeah not the best use of OUR time!
As to the requirements for the "Penthouse Forum" nature of the ROS ... doesn't have to be THAT specific to get credit but the ROS has to provide the reader with an idea and more information then what is available to not credited members! Content and SOME specifics are necessary for the reviewer to get credit for the review!

DD, I was going to start a thread about that very thing, personal attacks and rudeness and still may. But what will I get from that? Probably more personal attacks and rudeness. I'm not saying everyone should agree on everything as it's ridiculous to even think that. But being belittled, bullied, or even accused of having other motives to you posts....shit, it's a wonder there aren't even more lurkers. You post something, and all you need do is wait, I'm sure someone who gets their rocks off on rudeness will respond. It almost come to be expected around here. Luckily, there's enough pleasant, good people here that outweigh the unpleasant ones. But that kind of behavior is almost like cancer or hatred - they just brew and fester.

DD - I should have been more specific as far as who I was criticizing in the original post. I know lurkers exist and not everyone shares. Okay, but those that refuse to share and then spew hate and innuendo, that's what I dislike. I've been warned to play nice and I'll try unless provoked and just hope that warnings are given out equally especially to perverts.

Different people contribute in different ways. A guy that doesn't post or write reviews could quite possibly be contributing to the site monetarily with purchased PA access. Him doing so helps keep the site running, and helps keep that 6 weeks PA that writers get for reviews, free for you. So far the system has worked well with the variety of different types of members, different strokes for different folks.
