I tell you the following story in the hopes that it makes you feel 90% less dumb than other people out there. I'm stealing this from where I posted it in Diamonds and Tuxedos earlier:

When I go to Vegas, I call ahead - you get free drinks in Casinos, but I'm particular about what I drink, and I typically want to gamble in the high stakes room with modified rules. IE, I won't play American Roulette, I want "En Prison" in effect, and I want at least three zeros separating the table min and max.

Anyway - so my last trip to Vegas, I'm $30k up at Caesar's Palace, exquisitely drunk on my favorite booze. No one else has come into the room except the server, so it's a pit-boss, rotating dealer, myself, and the room bartender. I suggest that I'd like to share some evening entertainment with someone (and Vegas has advertisements for escorts/companions everywhere). 30 minutes later, a tiny little strawberry blonde vixen wanders in and joins me at the table. I game for a bit more, but it's been 5-6 hours without a break, and I wanted to break for dinner.

We go to dinner, she's a reasonable conversationalist. She keeps checking her phone - I'd never done, or ever tried doing anything like this before, so I'm presuming that she's checking in with her agency to assure that she's safe. Her companionship is $3,000 an hour, $10,000 for an overnight stay. I'm thinking, "Eh - I'm $30k up." Keep in mind that I knew nothing about this hobby, rates, or anything else.

I give her $10k, and we retire to my room to have a drink. She smells like cigarettes, which was a complete bummer, doesn't want any TOUCHING of either party on the other party in ANY fashion that isn't covered by something (no kissing), and the complete impersonal and cold nature of the entire thing was so...strange...that I ended up telling her to go. I probably should have asked for a partial refund since nothing was happening (I do mean nothing), but I was too embarrassed.

Morale of the story: Good food, terrible memory.


*edit* If anyone reads this that has read anything else I've been writing since I joined the forum two days ago, this is part of the reason that I'm so peevish about MUTUAL screening.

Upon seeing the thread title, I'm thinking you didn't get ripped off, you gambled and lost. It's Vegas baby. Walk down the strip, look at all the multi-million dollar casinos mostly new but some old ones are still around. Who do you think had them built? Old mob money at first, but they built those on gambler's money (your money). Very little if any was out of pocket.
So you play the BP roulette wheel and lost. The odds were never in your favor so without doing any research you were destined to lose. You're just lucky the second girl didn't show up and get your money too.

Gambling in a private room, inviting a hooker to join him. All well and good considering he was up 30G. But whoop the hell found this girl and what was their cut? That's where my complaint would be. Why would anyone recommend some 3000/hr whore that didn't put out services? Poor pimp skills, rotten concierge, whatever, Vegas is full of reputable providers and at that price I would expect some former Playboy model or Pornstar. Both available at that price. I'm just saying, OP got burned, not just by lame ass provider, but the casino as well. They should know better.

good point Hardhat. didn't even consider the fact (or it was a fleeting thought I lost) that the casino was in on it to get some of their cash back. ha, ha. girl probably worked for the casino and they just trot her out when they determine conditions are right. drunk guy with no clue and plenty of winnings. hit the pretend hooker staff request button. that or she was the bartender or pit-bosses GF. one of em gave her a heads up to score some easy loot. side note, if I re-read his post correctly he did spend 5-6+ hours with her. if she had actually 'provided' some fun time that would have been closer to 3000 worth (closer I said).
