Newbie has a question

Hey guys. I'm a newbie and I want to ask about referrals and or references. Are they the same thing? I'm assuming that they are not and wanted to know the difference and how to acquire referrals? My be a dumb question but I'm new to all this.

The English language will answer your question man.

A referral is when someone passes your name along to someone else or recommends someone to you. A hobby example would be if a provider is busy that day or doesn't provide a service you're looking for she may refer you to a girl she knows who may.

A reference is a person whose name you give someone so that they can call on them to vouch for you or your character/performance. In the hobby context this is what girls are looking for here from you. Some other provider they can reach out to who has seen you before and can verify that you're not a psycho axe murderer, LE, or a thief.

This isn't really a staff question though so I'm moving this to Coed.

the trouble with references is that the provide can only reference her experience with the hobbyist. Meaning the he didn't ax murder her, bust her our steal from her. He could still very well be a psycho...

Hi, Blue water, and welcome to the melee. From my standpoint as a provider:

Reference: I see you, we have a grand time, you call another lady, she calls me, I tell her we had a grand time and you are a swell fellow to see.

Referral: You call me again but I am out of town, so I refer you to another lady I know who I think you may have a grand time with. Or you may post an ISO that I don't fit, but I suggest someone who may suit your needs.

Does that clarify things a wee bit?
