You must be a Philadelphia Eagle football fan.....there are some within that fan base that actually believe they've played and won more Super Bowls than any other NFL franchise. The thing is......just 'cause you say it enough times, that doesn't necessarily make it so.......
If "hits"

means viewership numbers, then no, sorry Jemma...that claim isn't remotely close to recorded numbers.
SHOWTIME'S Dexter opened to 1 million U.S. viewers on Oct 2006 and it's numbers climbed steadily (however) plateaued and hung between 1.5 to 2.3 the next 7 seasons.
It's final season (8th), it opened to 2.5 viewers and crested (series finale) on Sept 23, 2013 to a whopping 2.8 million.
Combined cross-platforms gross viewership reached an average of 6.4 million.
While Dexter's numbers were all-time figures (at that time) for a cable net.....they pale in comparsion to the total numbers for TWD, which I posted earlier.
In fact, Talking Dead averages 5 million per each episode.....easily eclipsing anything Dexter produced.
