Double Mastectomy Question

Many of you already know that I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in May of this year. I have been touring and providing here locally while undergoing six months of chemotherapy so treatment didn't slow me down too much. On November 4th I underwent a double mastectomy and will not receive my new boobs until August of 2015. I have to wait six months once radiation is completed until surgery can be performed. Here lies the dilemma.

I am in the process of getting breast prosthesis until my permanent fake boobs can be put in. I understand if you are a boob guy I would not be a good fit for you. I am trying to decide if I need to retire for eight months or if I should continue providing.

I would appreciate your honest feedback and comments. I love providing and would like to continue providing. I just need to know how you guys feel about this issue.

I think as long as you're honest and open about your situation you can keep providing. As long as there are no surprises, it's up to the gent to decide if he's interested.

The surgery doesn't make you any less of a woman. If you feel like you can still provide quality service and take care of your men less the breast play, go for it.

What lakecat said. I've seen a provider that had a mastectomy. Didn't bother me a bit. It was one of my better adventures. I hope all goes well for you Shelby.

I lost my first wife to breast cancer. She left me the children. I wasn't ready to find another wife for several years and that was my first experience with the hobby - thank you girls.

When you look at it that way, who cares about the breasts. I surely don't. My turn on is what is between the ears. I have dealt with this several times in my family, it hits a lot of people. It hits women psychologically because it seems to attack their self value as a woman. Don't let it get to you, you are still a beautiful woman, and things will get better. There are support groups for women who have to deal with this. Find some support. Get the counseling because this is more than a physical hit.

By the way there was an article in the KC Star (Star Magazine I think on Sunday) a couple/three weeks ago about a guy who specialized in the nipple tattoos that was really good, and did a lot of help a low costs.

Shelby - just be honest with people and you should be fine. As one other measure, you may ask clients if they want you to wear your bra. But your rep is solid, you should be fine.

First of all, the most important thing is that you do well in terms of health. If guys don't want to see you because of the mastectomy f-em! If I were a regular with a gal who is going through what you are going through, I would reach out to her AND make sure that I saw her!! Women are a lot more than a pair of boobs!

I want to commend you on your decision to have a double mastectomy. As women we often gather our self worth and self esteem from our physical assets. It can be devastating when you face this disease and the choices required to fight it. I wish you strength in your fight and should you choose to continue providing while awaiting your reconstruction surgery, I hope your days are booked with appointments from some of these great understanding men.
