Listening to you fuckers , you'd think the world is coming to an end.
What I find funny is how all you small government fuckers are crying for the government to do something!
Breakfast time, EBOLA of cereal for me.

Small government, doesn't mean NO government, you dumbshit.
Why is it so difficult for you to comprehend such a simple idea?

Another misleading and irrelevant post.
Yes, it does start with one person. What is your point?
It takes time before the outbreak is detected. The first person (and perhaps numerous others) could be dead and buried and many more could be sick or carriers before it is determined that there has been an outbreak of something.
So the disease always gets a jump start before the government has time to impose travel restrictions.
Exactly how does that make the case that we should NOT impose travel restrictions after the pandemic starts?
What exactly was your point? Do you even know?

Whirly beat you on that one WTF. Badly.
Small government conservatives believe that there are relatively small number of core functions that only government can do.
It is entirely possible to believe that government has a role to play in stopping disease outbreaks without also believing that government should be controlling/funding the entire home mortgage market.

We are on the same side of the argument but you can't look past whatever blinders you are wearing to see it. I never said we should not impose travel restrictions. My point is that I don't believe imposing travel restrictions from W. Africa is enough and we aren't even doing that. Why?

No I don't think they are voluntarily brining Ebola into the country. What I think they are voluntarily brining into the country is fear of Ebola. Ebola has been around for hundreds of years primarily in Africa. Africa happens to have the carriers for Ebola. Pigs, Fruit Bats, Monkeys, Cane Rats, ect. These animals are host carriers of the virus. They don't necessarily get the disease. The virus is transmitted to humans by coming in close contact with them through a bite, feces, urine, ect. My final point is we don't have these carriers in America. You're not going to West Africa anytime soon. The chances of you coming in close contact with an Ebola patient is slim to none, but yet a vaccine will be available soon, as soon as 2015 to protect you from this virus. I don't know about you but the hysteria over this Ebola outbreak is a bit over played. What I think is happening is they are taking the strife of poor countries in Africa that have always toiled with this disease and bringing it home to sell a vaccine.

<<<< raises head. Wipes ebola cum stain off of lower lip...
So! What did I miss???
Anyone figure out how Nigeria contained their ebola outbreak and they keep ebola outbreaks from reoccuring (hint: it wasn't travel bans alone)? Will they succeed? Will we perish? Do you believe the new WHO's new statistic that 10,000 new cases a week are coming in the next two months? Did I use mouthwash today? Did you?
So many questions...

Hey, if someone can find a relatively honest way to make money off of it, it will happen.
