Question Newbie Question on P411 and Security
I’m new at this and now that I have a couple of recommendations, I’m looking to get P411 verified, but not sure how to pay for it. Since they will already have a lot of my personal data, do I just bit the bullet and use my CC or what? (Not really worried on SO seeing it, but not sure I like the idea of connecting my real life with my hobby one)
I actually tried to use a gift card to get premium access here, but could not get it to go thru.
So what do the more experience hobbyist recommend or if this has been answered somewhere can you please point me in the right direction?

If you're really worried about it you can send them cash or money order. As far as I'm aware, the prepaid credit cards like Visa Vanilla will not work because they use an international payment facility. I think you can use Visa Vanilla specifically to pay for Eccie though, not the others just that one. Maybe someone else can confirm that.

I don't quite understand your reticence, if it's not a SO security countermeasure to use an alternate payment method I'm not sure what the big deal is. P411 is based in Canada, been around forever and is very reputable, this stuff is legal there, and the site doesn't violate any laws anyway in the US or otherwise. Up to you obviously but I wouldn't worry about it.

You have some that have the same concerns that you have. On the other side, my thought is that the whole reason for p411 is to have enough of your personal data to "verify" you. It's a verification site which gives you/ providers a more sense of safety. Some will argue this point, but it's up to you to decide. I personally use p411 and it works fine for me. I set up all of my appointments with providers through p411.

Frog .. .use P411 .. it's probably the "safest" way to go and the powers to be there seem to monitor things well ... probably "monitoring" this thread!!!! But...

I hope you don't get the idea the site's status in Canada insulates YOU in U.S.

I think Aishu has it right. Just follow P411 Rules on giving out info.

I am not sure exactly how Gina verifies clients but I believe you have to see a P411 provider and get a referral to join the site- I love p411 and get most of my business from there because it is a lot safer and takes a lot of the guess work out of things/ They do monitor things and keep things moving as smoothly as possible
