Like huntin wabbits.... You have to be berry berry quiet.
Bow hunting is big fun, you have to be close, and get ready to track for a while if you are a shitty shot. I have used Compound Bows, but my favorite is a 60lb re-curve with no sights. I am close to a dead eye at 50 yards with that one, but ya' gotta move slow and deliberate with it.
Bow hunting, you cammo your ass up, put the good stinky shit on, pay attention to the wind.
Unless you are a deer slayer, and hang next to a feeder, in a tree stand waiting for Bambi to cruise in. ( no sport with that)
Have Fun this fall! Let us know how it works out.

Archery requires much more preparation, practice and patience.
You can probably hunt a day lease that may even have all the equipment you need for a couple hundred dollars plus a kill fee.
Or are you looking for a trick to take you?

For surely not looking for a client to take me, animal guts are not sexy! I do shoot rifle. Archery is something I have taking a liking to recently

Re-curve unsighted has to take some practice and skill.
I am going to go with a sighted compound bow if I go that route this year, because some give you the option to change the draw weight. I plan on starting 40lbs and working my way up to 55lbs before the hunt. I am prepared to track, as long as I get a broad side or a quarter hind shot I should have enough of a blood trail to track.
no hanging out by a deer feeder for me. Bow hunting will be a challenge, and I do like to challenge myself.
Thanks so much for all of the feedback gents!

I got pretty good at archery years back. Standing flat footed shooting at a stationary target on my level...
I went hunting with some friends and the day before the season opened we were in the field target shooting. I was nailing everything....Until....One guy decided to but my balls and started shooting from positions that he said to expect to dear hunt in, Like shooting almost straight down or twisting your body to shoot behind you without shuffling your feet. and do everything at a snails pace. You have to damn near be a contortionist. I quickly realized I had a lot to learn about bow hunting.
I ended up going the pistol route for more challenge. Ruger Blackhawk .357mag. iron sites. I've hit pigs on the run with that one. I have a Super Blackhawk in .44 mag also but I'm no where near as confident with it as I am the .357.
When you are finally successful there is no better feeling and most get hooked on it. I've gotten some great deals on rifles off of guys that were successful at bow hunting and never intended on rifle hunting again.
Good luck!

Did you say a broad side shot? Gut shooting a deer sure does stink. My rule with the boys when we go hunting, you gut shoot it, you clean it.
I can't compare the two as this is the first year I will bow hunt, but you can't beat an early morning bbbj in the blind or outdoor fun at the ranch/lease with your favorite ho . Hard to do when you're bow hunting.

Glad to see you're getting into bow hunting!
The adrenaline rush is damn near intense as good sex when you draw that bow back on a deer/hog/bear, etc. within 30 yards.
We need more good looking chics in the woods.

Watched this dude use a spear on YouTube, think he killed a bear. That shit looks crazy. Never been much of a hunter myself but it looks fun. Not the waiting part. The killing part.

Please say trick... Puhleeeze say trick....
Ok, nevermind. You ruled it out due to guts or blood or some nonsense. It's all sexy if you can shoot it, clean it AND cook it!
