I suspect either (1) you were never brought up around good examples of black academic achievers and so your circle of influence has always been negative. You likely think that successful black men can only be found in Sports or Entertainment. (2) you envy when you look in the mirror and sense a personal failure by way of comparison, or (3) you're afraid black guys pose too much of a retaliation risk if you storm in on a session to intimidate.

That's how I would have laid it out if I were Dorian. Then again I probably wouldn't have at all.

I'm a whitey, so I don't know quite how the No AA thing really feels. It sounds like a pretty strange reason to not see somebody to me. But I will say that I've failed to actually get a session with several providers I went after, and their reasons why were either never given, or didn't make any sense to me either. For what it's worth, I've stopped seeing, moved on from, or never even tried to see plenty of ladies, and they'd probably find my reasons for doing so nonsensical or not very satisfying.

IMHO, it's not worth getting hung up on. There will always be some people who don't want to deal with you. Most of the time, you will never get a reason why that makes sense to you. Even if you did, so what? Are you going to try to change to appeal to them? No thanks for me. All you can do is try to forget about it, and move on to somebody who will deal with you.
