Default Running shoes

Ok I just started running for exercise. This is new to me since I always would train with heavy weights. Any advice on a good out door running shoe. I prefer to run on a track rather than a treadmill. Thanks guys/gals

Asics GT-2000. One caveat: the mesh upper "breathes", so any discomfort from foot perspiration is reduced. The down side is, your feet will get soaked in wet weather -- which is usually not an issue here in San 'tone.

Thanks sir, I was looking at that brand. Was not sure if it was worth the bill 25. Tried them on and loved them. The gel padding felt great. Now all I got to do is put in some road work

When I hear our door running, I'm thinking on dirt and rocks. That has a different tread from track, road, and treadmill.

You can find a lot of reviews there. The shoes might be the most expensive ones, but you will at least see HOW they are reviewed. The key point to finding a good shoe is how much arch support you need. You might not even know. Also, shoes don't fit everyone the same way, so try on different models rather than just buying one with a good review.

First, you have to determine what kind of shoe you need as far as support. For me, my arches "kinda" collapse a little so I need a shoe with a little more arch support as oppose to a "neutral" shoe. Go to a store like Roger Solers and they can help you out.

From there, each brand of shoes (New Balance, Asics, etc) will be able to provide a shoe with your support level. For me. I've always gone with either Brooks, Asics or New Balance but there are other brands.

My running days are over.
But I know that Roger Soler is extremely helpful.

Go to a good running store and they will be able to evaluate your arches and stride and make a good recommendation for the type of running you will be doing. My one piece of advice when buying running shoes is do NOT shop based on price. I love running and can tell you if you choose a pair of shoes to save 20 or 50 dollars rather then go with quality you can end up with injuries. Running shoes are the only thing between your body and the surface you are running on always choose quality. With that said I myself am in love with asics and new balance

Default Gait Analysis

Like some of the others mentioned, you definitely need to find out what type of shoe you need based on your "gait". A specialty running store should be able to do a gait analysis for you and determine your pronation and foot-strike areas. You should then be able to narrow down the best shoes for you.

As me dear departed pappy always told me " take care of your feet and they will always take care of you." new Balance for me, they are pricey but last a good amount of time and are so comfy!!!!! Now I have to figure out how to get with Synderella and Bailey!!!!!
