Ever see in public someone you did not want to see, like a previous provider or customer?

Has happened to me twice. Both times did not approach, they never knew I was even there. I had seen both multiple times they were ECCIE providers.

Was afraid of freaking them out.

Here's the deal - they don't see you, you don't see them.

You would not be the first one of their clients that may shop in the same stores, eat at the same restaurants, or even worship at the same church, mosque or synagogue.

However, if you get all googlie eyed and run and say something profoundly inane or act inept, you could cause more than just a little embarrassment.

The rules of hobby club are simple - there is no hobby club if it isnt about the hobby, in the hobby.

Imagine you are in an airport and you go into a news stand for gum, water, magazine or book and while you are kneeling down a pair of cool hands cover your eyes and asks for you to guess who can make you come 14 ways from Sunday while having you strapped to a hobby horse with a 14 inch pink dildo hanging out of your ass. Then as you remember that session where she had you screaming for Mama, you hear your wife or child ask "Who the hell are you?"

That would be a bit hard to explain I bet. Same shoe, different foot.

If you do see each other eye to eye, suddenly remember that you need new chewing gum or the latest copy of Horse and Hound, turn and walk away.

It happened to me once. In a grocery store. She stopped and stared at me for a few secs, guessing trying to place it- when she did, she walked away fast. She was with a BF

This happen to me before I moved here....It was like a napalm....I went to eat at a very small hole in the wall type place...got sat in the corner and I shit you not both tables on either side were gents that I had seen before and their families. I didn't even blink an eye. I know they were freaking out and I wanted nothing more than to give the "it's ok I won't say hi" look but, I obviously couldn't.

Just another small reason I relocated to SA.

It's happen to me, but I was in a hotel in H town looking at providers. It was late so I went to the lobby and as I'm going down to the first floor a provider walked in. Same girl I was looking at on the ad. Tattoos matched up. Funny situation

happened twice to me....first in a grocery store. We were both alone we passed in the aisle
made eye contact smiled and kept going. Another time ran into a former provider just saw each other smiled and went on our way. At the next social she thanked me for not saying anything. Well I certainley know better than to do that but she explained that some guys dont or didnt.....RW and Hobby world are different...keep it that way

I have never had this happen but it does remind me of this thread from when I was a newbie hobbyist and learned what not to do
http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=722155
Somebody needs to write a Hobbyist/Provider handbook one of these days

Hell, I've had a lot worse than running into a provider.
Saw my Ex and her new husband at Target, I'm sure he wondered why she was running the other way telling him to come on, Hell, I just wanted to shake his hand and wish him luck...he's gonna NEED it!

I was sitting at breakfast one time and got a text on my hobby phone from someone in the restaurant - that was just creepy because I had never met the guy before (or since).
Another time I was out to dinner and a client I had met that afternoon for a FBSM. He was with other people, but I just acted like I didn't know him.
