Question for you though, what has lifted more people out of poverty than anything else in the history of the world? I'll give you a hint, it's not a UN program. Also I would never say that all poor people are lazy, my point is only that the system subsidizes laziness.

True our system USED to lift more people out of poverty until the Plutocracy running things made some changes to our system, based completely on self-serving selfish corporate GREED. These changes were basically the offshoring tens of millions of great paying jobs out of the USA. Many of those former great US jobs were sent by our Corporations to their 'new found Commie friends' in Red China, a Commie country BTW STILL dedicated to destroying the USA! This is what created much present day poverty! People who USED to work, now are underemployed or not working at all! This salient point is completely lost and avoided by our myopic friends on the right who mistakenly continue to blame, attack and call these unemployed folks lazy. The real culprit for their dire plight is Corporate Caprice which took their jobs away in the first place. Something our new poor have NO control over.

If i've said it once, i've said it a thousand times. Figure out a way of helping those who truly need it while weeding out the abusers, without one person in the former group being left out, and i'll listen.
