Bought new directly from a dealership (stealership). Had the 5 year 50k mile full coverage. Just never really drove it that much. So warranty expired with 14,723 miles on it. I ended up giving it to my youngest daughter since she wanted it. Although I will admit the $2200 service was cheap since the dealership quoted $10,678.92 for it. After calling MBUSA and explaining the situation (that I would never buy another Mercedes) they issued a credit to the dealership to do the work for that price since I was such a loyal customer (16 bought new through dealerships thus far).

The dealerships are not the best as they try to make the most money as they can in the service department but the company is good. They bought back a 2004 SL55 from me in 2006 (with 7k miles on it) when the dealership could not figure out why the service engine light kept coming on. Something they do to continue customer loyalty. Especially considering they have serious issues with the balance shaft going bad at an early time. The key to getting good service like that is always have it serviced by a dealer. Even when (like in my case) it did not call for it based upon the miles. If you have one oil change done outside of the dealer network and something goes wrong later. Yep you will be stuck paying that repair since you in their eyes voided the warranty.

Ok, like with any car things happen. Nice advice for next purchase, I will be sure to let my GM know to do a nice oil change for me and let me know when my car needs to be traded in, but at $45 K well spent I don't see much going wrong anytime soon sweetie.

All good points thou to others wanting to spend their hard earned money wisely. I got what I wanted and dreams do come true! There is no need to be concerned, I am a bit wiser than I may come across.

To much headache in buying a new vehicle having to worry about service and warranty and break downs. That's why I lease get free service get free loaner car and get a new car every two years and if I happen toget a flat they come out and change tire don't even break a sweat.

But congrats on your new ride Dreams I hope it came with the heated and A/C seats to keep your hot ass cool, don't need to burn a hole anywhere.

An good move. One I took a few years back. And since my 24 months is nearing an end I received a call from the dealer saying I could lease a SLS for only $1973.28 a month.. Gotta love a salesman with initiative and drive though.
