Who will succeed General Shinseki?
Senator John McCain suggested that Senator Tom Coburn (R, Ok) would be an excellent choice to succeed General Shinseki as Veteran's Affairs Secretary.
Actually it might not be a bad choice!

Turdy, need I remind you when your trouble's normally begin?
When you start thinking! Duh!
Words of Wisdom to the Smelly ol' Turdfly's of the world:
In the future, leave the thinking to those equipped to handle the job!
Thought for the day: Did anyone other than me notice that when I said that Senator Coburn "might not be a bad choice," Turdy immediately thought it was his job to disagree. As if to say, if BT wants a Republican, Turdy has no alternative but to pull for a Democrat.
Turdy has no morals and no political compass. He only knows if BT is for it, he's against it.
"Go Greyhound and leave the driving to us!"
What a dipshit! Turdy has once again offered living proof that he will forever be a Smelly ol' Turdfly!

Coburn is respected on both sides of the isle for good reason. He sounds like an excellent choice. Plus a republican would be a good strategic move. Something to get the parties working together.
A karl rovian tactical move would be to install a republican Shinseki, I.E. a Marty Cantor, Ted Cruz; and let them fall flat on their face with no regard to the fate of our country or that of our veterans. Then the classic "anybody is better than that last asshole" swap is made.

I believe Senator Coburn would be a very good choice.
1) He has vast experience dealing with Veteran's issues.
2) He is respected on both sides of the aisle.
3) He has already announced his intent to retire from the Senate after this term.
4) And last but certainly not least, he is a physician.
Seems to me that JMac nailed it this time.

What's wrong BigKotex, Hillary is under-qualified? The job as VA head beneath her lofty talents? Not enough money to steal?
What about Michelle Obama? She's currently a high priced hospital administrator . If she takes this job, perhaps she can earn her pay (and vacations) for once?
Anyone notice that when I suggested Hillary, BigKotex launched into a personal attack instead of debating the merits of Hillary Clinton taking the position?

Maybe GWB or Dick Cheney should take that job as they are most responsible for the vast majority of participants since 2003.

Turdy the Smelly ol' Turdfly is more in his element when he's buzzin' around from turd to turd hoping to find a fresh pile to feast on. The process itself doesn't take much thought or prior planning! Turdy, stay in your element. He needs to leave the actual thinking to those with the mental capacity to handle the task.

WTF might be on to something constructive! (See what happens Turdy when you use the head for something other than an antennae for locating fresh piles.) Putting Darth/Shrub into the position, might be a natural. It is because of their total and complete incompetence that most of today's Vets need care in the first place. Why not make Darth/Shrub directly responsible for the long term?
Either way, the cost should come out of Darth/Shrub's deep pockets. Well, maybe not all of it. Since Halliburton profited the most, they should chip in.
If Senator Coburn doesn't get it, Darth/Shrub would be an excellent 2nd choice.

McCain is a vet, let him do it and maybe Arizona could get a senator with a spine.

I would imagine if and when Arizona wants someone other than JMac as their Senator in Washington, they will elect that person.
Perhaps 2Pups should consider moving to Arizona to help speed up the process!
Just sayin'

Wrong again, Captain of the Austin Reacharound Crew. The majority of VA patients are still from the WWII, Korean and Vietnam War era. Think old people, like BigKotex.

Those folks should step aside for the GWB batch if they are eligible for Medicare. I mean should people suffering from old age take the beds and services of the VA from filks coming back from war?

The GWB batch? You mean the fighters on the Great War on Terror, instigated by bin Laden. The GWB batch? Really?
You do know that more people have been killed and injured in Afghanistan during Obama's watch than GWB's?
You really have drunk the Kool-Aid, Capt'n.
