Have you or were you approached by any member that made the offer to help you, showed up and after showing you a few things on your computer of laptop asked if you were ready to move to the verification stage and either before...... or even worse..... AFTER you gave yourself to him you came to realize he had no intention of paying for your time?

It's bad enough that in the life style you have chosen that you will meet predators in the form of pimps. One of the draws to ECCIE is the community supported aspect that makes things less stressful and safer done right. It's pretty disgusting when the members here will want to use you and take advantage of you as well.
It happens all over and it has happened here in San Antonio..... I've heard the story already twice in the last 2 months..... Send me a PM .... When there are enough of you that share to be able to do something about it I'll have some suggestions....

1. a friend let a client help her with her computer and he basically stalked her with it. put programs on it, and her phone. she had to get a new computer and phone. change passwords on hobby sites.
DO NOT LET ANYONE HAVE YOUR PHONE OR COMPUTER OR PASSWORDS.
I know not the same but be careful.
2. I only ever offer to help providers get verified or onto sites after I've seen them and I think they should be. I also always ask or send pm asking if they like reviews. I don't always write them, but wouldn't write one for a provider who is utr.
To me, it's a two way street, your helping them but their helping you. Reputation-wise. It was near the beginning on my time here when a provider after a session explained the hobby to me and helped me get verified and on sites, and I still use her advice about hobby.
Someone helps you AFTER you've paid, or AFTER been paid, it's helping
Someone offers to help INSTEAD of paying, or in EXCHANGE for paying

Some Providers offer review specials or discounts if they want help sometimes, but usually from established hobbyists so they be verified faster, same way "Newbie" hobbyist won't be able to see certain providers until they are verified enough. But both sides are aware of situation, not one trying to advantage of other.

Same here. Whatever her story is I have no idea. Stating that is not trying to shut a provider up. It is just pointing out that we have no idea what she was trying to say.
