Forget the law b/c when it comes to the internet, the law is meaningless. It is a jungle out there and unless you have a shitload of money to hire a big law firm to go after copyright violators, it isn't worth the effort. Having said that, the bottom line is this. Once it is on the internet, it is on the internet for good and can never be undone. So for those that plaster pictures on the net when they are in their 20s might have some 'splainin' to do when they are 50 or 60 year old grandmas and junior finds a picture of her on the net.

If I pay a photographer to take pictures of me for my advertising purposes then he better not have that large a watermark on any of them.
That wouldn't leave room for my logo.

It is afterall my advertising medium that I paid for.

Now, if he paid me to pose for pictures to be used in promoting his photography business then he can put as big a watermark on them as he wants.
I am assuming I have been presented with and signed a consent to release form....
Now it's his advertising medium that he has paid for.

I wouldn't work with nor recommend a photographer who would insist on that large a watermark on my purchased pics.

SEXYMAID you just drilled the EXACT the purpose of this thread! Let's also note that some of these guys then have "OWNERSHIP" of "YOUR" image that "YOU" paid for and can use as they wish. Sounds crazy doesn't it? I hope other providers will read this and be educated that its "their" money. He who has the money has the control. Not the other way around.
