My ECCIE Reviews

I personally am very reasonable with my rates for a reason:
Girls in texas charge far more by the hour than alot do where I am from. Even at 200 or 240 an hr I am making way more than I did at home so for me im still making a crazy profit every week.
also its about being choosen over another girl. Say there is another tall skinny girl with my look in the area, if I price myself even 10 to 20 lower than her rate there are alot of guys who will let that be the deciding factor to book with me instead.

I know of at least 2 well reviewed hobbyist that like the thrill of cruising for SW and getting a BJ in a back alley. Not because its cheap they like the thrill of the chase and doing there business in a public place.its no different than going to a cheap hotel on the bad part of town for the 50 dollar special the potential danger and not knowing what kind of girl you will see is a big rush !!!!! don't ask me how i know lol

Those guys can keep their "cheap thrills", I'd be worried those chicks have "handlers" that look like linebackers waiting to fleece me for my donation, phone, and anything else on my person.

Yep. I have a great job that required a ton of education and debt and I'm happy when I average $50/hr after all is said and done.
If a girl only needs to make $100/hr...why should anyone judge?

And you think some high end escorts don't have handlers, fuck them around and guess what will happen to you.
And if you were to get robbed seeing the low end people their intent was to rob you straight up anyway.

It's important to keep things in perspective here. Averaging $50/hr for 2080 hours (40 hour weeks 52 weeks in the year) is an annual income of $104,000.
That puts you in the top 10% of individual incomes in the US according to the 2012 census data.
The median income for someone with a Masters degree is $67,600.
All due respect but it's not saying much that you're happy being in the top 10% of earners and around 50% above the median when adjusting for educational attainment.
That said, people should just keep actual earnings data in mind. Many of us don't realize how fortunate we really are and mistakenly assume much les income inequality than really exists.
Some quick math shows that even a girl charging 100 per hour could make the same as the median person with a bachelors degree if she averages 2.2 appointments per day 5 days a week 50 weeks a year. Up that to 2.8 per day when taking 13 weeks off for that time of the month. Not sure how realistic that is or sustainable but it proves a point.

I agree with all your math and comments, but I can't say I'm clear on the point you're making. Sorry
My only point is that, if a provider's situation only requires her to need $50k a year, and she can make that earning $100 at a pace at which she's comfortable, then I don't think necessarily she's "selling herself short." Now, she probably could and should charge more, but I don't think it makes her trashy for charging less.
$50k is not a bad salary. I've made that and lived just fine...quite happily.

Sorry Spice, not to take offense, but I disagree with your math, as business expenses are entirely left out, which omission renders your algebra equation, and conclusion, invalid. Thus, any self-employed business person is simply just going to smile at you. Note that although the links you present are to valid data, that data pertains to income after business expenses.
What any self-employed person actually takes home is the "net" after business expenses. For example:
Phones, computer, other office expenses, publication/photo and advertising costs, travel, travel meals, airplane, cab or rental car costs, luggage replacement, other rental costs, insurance, professional equipment and attire, legal and other professional fees or retainer, hometown transportation costs, and the list goes on.
And if there's a bit of travel, in addition to travel itself, then there's also child care, pet sitting, security alarm service, and more, which although not business expenses, are still out of pocket.
And last, self employment taxes.
I have several soap boxes to stand upon, verbal/written or hand built. This is one of my favorites.

My point was merely a more detailed version of NikkiWhite's and also a bit of a reminder to those of us in the top 10% of just how fortunate we are. I know many people who view six figures as some sort of baseline for a decent income. I may have mistakenly taken your comment Mynx as one of those "well I'm pretty happy as long as I'm making six figures". To which my response is "well duh, you'd be pretty unrealistic not to be"
To mr self employed accounting 101 guy, it wasn't intended as a profitability analysis and obviously net sales does not equal net income. Perhaps I oversimplified a bit too much striving to make a broader point. I figured diluting it with profit margin estimates was unnecessary for the current discussion. Feel free to adjust the figures for a 20/30/40/50% profit margin whatever but the point remains.

That was kind of my point, they use the women to lure men in with "cheap fun" then relieve them of valuables.

Spice, yep, you miss understood my point about being happy when I net $100k/yr. My point is that I make what I need to make to cover the basic needs I have and live a comfortable life. In my life that comes out to about what I make to cover my basics. Am I happy with that? Well, yes and no...I wanted more, realistic or not, so that's why I find my self here. Call me greedy or call me an highly motivated overachiever. It is what it is. But my point is that if a girl can make the money she needs by charging $100/hr, why do other providers call her low class and trashy?
UCarp, I agree...that's why I said "when all is said and done" I'm glad when I make $50/hr. Businss related expenses are a bitch. But I can't imagine that a provider who is a competent business woman can't figure out a way to limit her expenses to under 50% of her gross earnings.
