Yeah it is. I retired through the State of Louisiana. Upon my retirement I kept my current Healthcare coverage. I retired in June of 2006. I don't receive a check anymore my benefit is directly deposited into my checking account monthly, but my Healthcare Plan is 366.00/month the last I checked. I also have Dental but that is separate and actually very inexpensive. I haven't received any notices from the Insurance carrier of any changes or future changes, at least not yet. The coverage is good the deductibles are reasonable and it covers a lot that's why I kept it.

This is a train wreck in the making. See you in a year! Hopefully everyone will be truthful.

Their are self employed people who can pay the premium in the individual market, but are denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition. If you can't find a doctor with your Obamacare policy then just go to the nearest hospital when you get sick and at least you will be covered. This is better than going to the hospital with no insurance at all. How much is it costing the tax payer when an uninsured person gets treated at the nearest hospital? I don't know you can't follow the accounting. The hospital is not eating that charge that's for sure. According to the CBO Bush's prescription drug plan for seniors cost $800 billion. Obamacare will cost $1.2 Trillion. It will not be a train wreck if the individual mandate to purchase health insurance is followed. Romneycare seems to be working in the State of Mass. Romneycare and Obamacare have the same individual mandate to purchase health insurance or pay fine or as Chief Justice Roberts calls it a Tax.

#1: And there are "self-employed people who can pay the premiums for themselves and their employees who have group coverage and their "pre-existing conditions" are covered! If you think insuring "pre-existing conditions" will be "free" or "subsidized" you really are off your meds. Anybody who has signed up yet doesn't even know if they will get a "subsidy"!
#2: Are those the same folks who love "the Canadian Plan" for its "effectiveness"?
Let me guess, you won't publish your age on here so no one will know?
And I'm certain I have ties I've worn to work older than you.

Actually the topic in this thread is not about "whose line is better" .. or "who can post the "trickiest" or "cutest" response ... but .. please continue ... all the way into 2016.

IBH, in the first part of your question, it is an unknown as to how much it is costing the taxpayer to pay for the hospital services given to every uninsured patient. The accounting can not be followed. In the second part of your question, not every uninsured citizen is getting a subsidy. You have to make less than 400% above the poverty line. So, to get a subsidy for Obamacare a family of 4 must make more than $22,500 and less than $90,000. If the family of 4 makes more than $90,000 you will not get a subsidy. If the family of 4 makes less than $22,500 they will not qualify for an Obamacare policy (a policy from the government exchange) they will get coverage from their state Medicaid program instead. I don't know what will be the cost of all the subsidy's. The CBO has estimated that Obamacare will cost 1.2 Trillion. This is about 400 billion more than the Bush prescription drug program for seniors which cost $800 billion.

So, to get a subsidy for Obamacare ..... .
|
It's unknown to whom?
And if one has an employer plan ... no subsidy.
So, why don't we just put the 11 million ACTUAL UNINSURED on medicare ...
......... whether they like it or not?
Then when the show up at the ER with runny nose .. send them to the "clinic"!!!!
Charge them a "tax" of $700 a year ... to offset the costs .. and if they don't pay the "tax" do what we do to all tax evaders ... put them in prison where they will get medical care.... and put the children in foster homes where they will get medical care from the state programs.
