Romo is a stat generating machine just not a big game win machine. He's a modern day Danny White.

Romo is a joke! Jones, the GM... IS A BIGGER JOKE!!!!!

I have given up on the Cowboys!!!!! As far as Jones is concerned.... the NFL is the entertainment business!!!!! He doesn't care who losses or wins...as long as his ego is in tact (at least in his own mind)!!!!!!!

I can't support a team... where winning is NOT the #1 priority!!!!!

I have given up on the Cowboys!

Bingo! While they are not my favorite (hometown) team, I always wanted them to be successful. Jones has become the joke replacement for Al Davis.

Anyone related to Jones should be banned from the Cowboys (yes, I mean Stephen Jones). They draft like shit. They are so mismanaged it's embarrassing.

It's understood this is a thread intended for anti-Cowboy fans (or fair weather Cowboy fans who really don't understand the game) to bash Romo. So be it. While ill timed INT's are blamed for Dallas' reason(s) for why they win or lose games....let's look a tad deeper as to why teams really do succeed or fail:

Season to date (10-07) for the NFC EAST division:
Giants (0-5) defense has surrendered 181 points (36 per game)
Eagles (2-3) defense has surrendered 156 points (31 per game)
Redskins (1-3) defense has surrendered 112 points (28 per game)
Cowboys (2-3) defense has surrendered 136 points (27 per game)

All 4 teams are currently on a pace to set ALL TIME RECORDS for points surrendered per their own historical numbers. Let that marinate in your football brain for a minute or two, okay?

Oh, by the way.....let's take a look at a couple of currently undefeated teams in the league and their numbers:
New Orleans Saints (5-0) defense has given up 56 points so far.
Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) defense has given up 58 points so far.

If you need a calculator to figure out the average points per game these defenses are surrendering; have at it, bunkie. Take your time....we'll wait.

Keep playing the blame game (particularly vs Romo) all you want, haters. Bottom line is, until Jerry Jones decides to stop playing fantasy football in the draft and with trades and start building a championship defense, Romo is going to continue being this franchise's scapegoat.

Wow, thank you kind sir for those stats for the uninitiated and unknowing and showing us that actual win vs loss ratios don't really matter at the end of the season. So, in effect the NFC East sucks and the Cowboys are less sucky than the other umm.. sucky teams in their division. So while we all agree Jerry Jones is incompetent... that makes Romo a hero and the Cowboys probable division champions! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaa!

(eyes roll)

Who made this throw? Romo - no one else. Who forced a throw into three defenders and missed the wide open guy (note the back standing next to the ref). He should have taken a few yards and a completion but that's hindsight.

However, look at what happens when he throws (see his foot). Lineman bumped it (no joke). HP lost on ball.

Lets think about this. Romo gets 48 points and the defense gives up 51. Its obvious who's fault it is.

I've been saying for 4 years now that Tony is to the present day Cowboys what Danny White was in the 80's, except Tony can't punt or get his team to the playoffs.

Listen, the bottom line is they aren't a dominant team yet. That was one helluva game, one of the best I've seen in awhile. After that San Diego game I thought the CowGirls would be bringing a knife to a gun fight, but they actually brought a fully loaded gun and showed heart in coming back on the Broncos and having the clock and the score in their favor.

What gets overlooked is the no timeouts left is what put the offense in a bind at the end and that falls on the coach, mainly.

I know what the Cowboys have been the last 16 years, they've sucked !! I've been waiting for them to start making the right decisions on and off the field to right the ship and they seem to now. The entitlement attitude, even with the 'I can't spank my children' owner, seems to be disappearing. Since the end of last year this team has played with more heart since the Jimmy days (take away that 2nd half of last weeks Chargers game from that statement though).

The positives are the offensive and defensive lines have improved, those were the big priorities. (it's gonna suck though that Demarcus Ware is playing hurt ala the last 3 weeks). The secondary is the glaring weakness now, they can't play press coverage. What's bad is they are worse playing off the ball. That's how I'm-a-spare-like-Tony Romo Phillip Rivers throws for 37 of 42 against them. This is a game about adjustments too and the Cowgirls at least went into the Denver game saying "our corners have got to press or Peyton might not have an incompletion."

Back to Tony, he's holding the ball too long on certain plays, he's gotten away from escaping the pressure by stepping up and he's trying to go backwards. To break that habit they need to get him to take off up the middle when he feels the pressure, not backpedal. He doesn't have that internal clock in his head that says "I should've gotten rid of the ball already, I better run or throw it away." His still says I wanna be a gunslinger and now it says "I'll just stand here."

To the dude who posted all the stats, waste of time, there is only one that matters, Wins and Losses unless you're a gambler, then you care about other numbers, not stats. Believe it or not this team is improving. Like I said they rolled the dice big time on defense yesterday with the secondary, they need to stay with that; The offense looks less predictable and actually improved in the red zone.

The best news - They are playing in the weakest NFC East division I can remember in a long time.

Oh fuck this !! Tony you suck, bring back Danny!!

The only person in the NFL who makes worse football decisions than Tony Romo is Jerry Jones.

Everybody expected Manning to put up big numbers. I figured 60. He's hard to stop. Everybody expected Tony would blow it, and he did.

Yesterday is why Romo, in spite of his numbers, isn't on anybody's Top Ten active QB list. Because at least one of those record setting completions is going to be the one that beats him. Bench him, cut him, whatever, I'd rather see a bad rookie on his ass in the backfield than know that the guy in the driver's seat is going to find a way not to win. The entire Romo era has been fucking painful, it's time to stop the bleeding.

Peyton Manning the all world QB and all he has is one world title. Folks you can't win without a good defense. If Tony had Aikmans defense it would be a different story.

Yep... the defense threw to a wide open defender with the clock running down. You can make an case that the defense didn't help but in the end that L rests on Romo.

As a NYG and DCB fan, while pissed off at the world, I do love how good ole Peyton is having his way with the league.. the Indy owner must be shitting bricks that he choked when it came time to give PM his bonus$$ while he was out on injured reserve....meanwhile Dnvr GM Elway is looking pretty darn smart these days

No, Indy regrets absolutely nothing.

They are 4-1 with Andrew Luck, who appears poised to be one of the best QBs in the league for years to come. He is young and talented.

I'm sure that Indy is glad to see Peyton having one last hurrah. But he will be gone from the league in 2, maybe 3 years. Moving to Andrew Luck was the right move at the right time.

Holy shit. The Jets beat Atlanta. Will wonders never cease.

A team that seemed destined for 2-14 is now 3-2. Looks like we may have to play the season after all.

LoL, it blows my mind that people are trying to blame Romo for this loss. He played a better game than Manning and they both made just 1 mistake, the same mistake, and Romo beat Manning in every other category. If the Cowboys had played like that against any other team in the league it would have been a W. It's amazing what he can do when his line protects him. But it's unfortunate that the Cowboys defense seems like they'd have a hard time stopping a troop of blind Girl Scouts; the blame for this one is on them.

Overall though, when people say that Romo is a bad QB or that we should trade him I completely lose all respect for their football opinions because they just made it crystal clear that they don't understand or know anything about football. If they are just trolling because they hate the Cowboys, whatever, I've said some nasty things about the redforeskins, the vagiants, and the sheagles; but that's different.

And Jerry Jones is just a fact of life until he retires; which I doubt will happen while he's alive. And he has enough money to build an iron man like life support suit so just get over it and accept it.
