For that matter, a "nutritionist" is likely to be some nutjob who believes in some weird theory like Neutralistic veganism and is going to suggest a diet that has too little of some things, or too much of others.
Ok, I think I understand where you're coming from. Those are hacktritionists that just websearch shit. When I meant nutritionist, I meant one that actually sits and asks a fuck-ton of questions to get to know your food likes/dislikes, some of your medical history, current food habits, etc. It should be a thorough evaluation with the end result being what to change and what is ok to keep. In addition to follow-ups on what's working and not. Not what new age or fads to sell the consumer.

But I suppose those 'real' nutritionists are far and few these days.

Plenty of the quacks do all that paperwork and data collection as well.

95% of the people who don't have unusual medical conditions or do extreme physical things won't benefit from anything dietary past not overeating, and eating a reasonable mix of foods.

You don't need a nutritionist to tell you not to eat crap. If you're not sufficiently determined to eat right without a nutritionist, you won't eat well with one.

The big thing people get from nutritionists is someone to nag them into eating right. Or just to lighten their wallet.

Beware of taking CLA supplements. CLA in natural form has many health benefits, including anti-inflammatory. CLA in supplement form had been found to increase inflamation. Pm me if you want any more details.

Personally I don't think that you, your Doctor or Nutritionist can properly outline a plan for you without understanding your metabolic rate.

I inherited a high metabolic rate from my grandfather. That has contributed to my great colesterol levels over the years. The downside is that I have to be hydrated well. If I eat a big meal I immediately start burning it up. There's been times when I break out in a sweat at a restaurant before I'm even finished eating.

I do have a bit of a pot but that's just of matter of getting up off my ass and exercising something more than my perogative. Were it not for the hobby I probably wouldn't get much at all.

I bought a refurbished $330 Vitamix Blender @ www.vitamix.com and each morning have a smoothie made of Spinach, banana, sunflower seeds, celery, tomato, avocado, pineapple, grapes, cantalope, watermelon Flax seeds and water/ice. no waste, nothing made in a laboratory...just good stuff. Sometimes throw in a jalapeno (good for the circulatory system) no seeds too hot... You can google green smoothies and go wild with stuff

Yes, I have been juicing for a little while. It has completely changed my taste buds. I no longer crave junk food. I love juicing and healthy smoothies. I like apple, spinach and pineapple together. Wheatgrass, pear and grapefruit is good. My favorite is spinach, kale, banana and fresh coconut water. I was having them made then I started doing it myself. It thinned me out. My tummy went down, dropped a dresssize and lost significant weight in 6 weeks. It gave me my energy back and skin looks better. Juicing is the bomb!!
