Looking for a reference for a hotel on the Walk. Doesn't have to be Hobby centric as my spouse will be with me. Just a good place to stay with nice rooms, good service, good concierge and local ambiance close by.

Hilton Palacio Del Rio is the place to stay. On the east side of the river walk and convenient to everything downtown -- the Alamo, Tower of the Americas, La Villita, and so on. Mexican food meal on one of the river barges is fun, too. Highly recommended!

The Hyatt has just been re-done recently. Personally I stay at the Menger. It's no on the walk, but it's very historic and by the Alamo.

Many "boutique" hotels near or on the RW, and a couple of Bed & Breakfast Inns as well.
 Omni La Mansion del Rio
 Mokara Hotel & Spa
 Hotel Contessa
 Inn on the Riverwalk (BnB)
Arbor House (BnB a black awy from RW)

Some really good places to eat. Try Big on the River.

Some fun places, too. If you have a birthday celebration, Dick's Last Resort is the place to be embarrassed properly.

 Bienvenidos a San Antonio!

I recommend the Hotel Valencia. (personal experience) very classy hotel with lots of style. Try out the V bar for good drinks. If your significant other is HOT watch out for the "lipstick lez" types. (smile)

				 Riverwalk Hotels

I have stayed at the Marriott Riverwalk, the Westin, the Holiday Inn and the Marriott Rivercenter. The Rivercenter has the best combination of amenities and location. Price varies depending on what conventions are in town.
