Provider's Rates: Self worth vs Perceived Value

If you look at today's ads, you'll see an example of a provider doing it exactly right as far as maximizing her revenue. YummieMarie's latest rates are $700 for first time visitors, and $400/hr for return guests.

Her rates were much lower recently, but she's delivered outstanding services, and has raised her rates in response to the market's perception of the value she delivers.

Don't believe anyone saying you can't raise (or lower) your rates in response to market forces. Of course you can - it happens all the time. Especially in this business.

Nothing at all wrong with a provider setting her rates at what the market demands and adjusting accordingly....As long as free market forces are all that is driving it. Problems arise when people try manipulating the market.

Your advise was bad. You don't start with how many hours you want to work. That's dumb. You start with how much do you need to make.

Also, I never said you couldn't raise your rates. I said it's easier to raise them than lower them.

You also aren't privy to what's in the envelopes other than your light envelopes. Some will be grandfathered. Many will try to pay her at her old rate. Some will pay her at the $400 rate ignoring the $700 rate. Still more will haggle something inbetween the $700 and the $400. And a few, mostly Eros clients, will pay her rate. In short, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Your best advise was given on how to mitigate paying for it via lists, French only and the like, and even that's irellevant (sp) now. Peace Blowpapi.

Someone didn't read my ad correctly and misquoted my rates...also they totally ignored the amount of time that went with the rates...

I did as OH has said before: decided what I needed to pay my bills and how much I wanted to make per appointment. My many repeat friends get my previous rates of course. They get all my gratitude for always being amazing company and supporting my business :-*

I meant it is easier to lower than raise your rates.

I always thought the same and was perplexed when we last met, socially, as to why I got a cold shoulder from her. Something had changed toward me on her part.
