Anita, how did the vikings pay you? With their booty?
Providers that last longer seem to know how to hold unto their regulars, hence the term hooker. I also think they know how to choose clients better, and what is the correct volume for their lifestyle.
Another provider I know has been in the business for about 20 years, has a busy week or two, and then takes a few weeks off and will see just a couple of SD types.

Maybe when you become the flavor of the month it's like winning the lottery. Some people can handle it and some not. I think one has to pace oneself during the initial feeding frenzy. It has to be safer to get addicted to the money rather than to what it takes to help you forget what you did to make it.

Ragnar used to say, "providers never retire, they just get picky."

Your first 2 years are pure chaos and you need to pace for sure, your first 10 trips to.a new city are pure chaos and you need to pace yourself. Plus the day you leave a place until the time you get back you get a ton of "when will you be back? When can i see you? Just missed you come back asap!" you need to space your visits out by a few weeks or months not get sick of a city. Each city is diff. Buffalo haggles more, Rochester cancels more, syracuse wants all hours of the night and morning, Erie wants you crazy low volume, Pittsburgh doesn't give a damn they want revolving door, Cleveland doesn't take no or I'm busy or I'm sleeping as an answer they almost demand to see you plus out of your 5 prebooks only like 3will keep their date, vegas is insane they want as high volume as possible if you tell them you have someone they want to outbid them for the date and are willing to sit in your hotel casino until the sec someone leaves and dont care if your bed is even made or if youre showered ewww, and so on.
If you just keep dealing with one type of city unless you live there you will get sick of it if you don't spread it out.
Doing special stuff and special trips for regulars only or by request is smart too. I was in buffalo last night and I'm here now just seeing a select few of regulars that requested me instead of advertising at all before I fly out. I also bake sometimes or offer lunch or wine or a drink to my local regulars. Special personal touches keep regulars interested and let them know how special they are to you. Regulars are what keep a girl in the hobby for a long time.
