The Garbage Plate isn't half as good as it used to be. You can see in cny's pic that the home fries are "value added". That means they're purchased frozen, pre-browned in bags. Then, upon cooking, they're dropped in the deep fryer. They suck!

Almost all diners have adopted this product. In the old days, the diners would boil the potatoes (skin on) then have the poor dish washer peel them and cube them. They then made their way to the flat-top grill where they were fried in oil.

cold beans in a microwave tend to well ahhhhhh , what a mess

I hate to say this but that plate looks more like the result of a heavy night of drinking rather than something you eat after the night of heavy drinking!!!

suck mmmm naaaaa. But ya not as good

ask to add bacon and watch what they do.

bacon goes in to the deep fat fryer, then on the flat top grill with a bit of olive oil or butter.
mmmmm add grease and oil to BACON.

but but but you add ground pork to ground deer to add a bit of fat
