Every hobby interaction has an associated risk. Bringing many risks together in one place exponentially increase the overall risk.
I wish you the best of luck and hope you stay safe.

Safety Thoughts (for the hell of it)
DoG makes a couple of good points and, Ariel, many will appreciate you trying to put together something fun and give some folks an opportunity to meet. Both ends of this have win/win possibilities.
What may get left out of this is that the primary risk doesn't involve LE but, rather others involved on both sides of the hobby who may not be operating with everyone's safety and anonymity in mind. This is why screening is of the utmost importance and Ariel, keep in mind that some of your provider friends may not be your friends at some future point. We who have been around for several years have heard and seen lots of situations where BFFs have become FUFs (fuck you forever's). Using other providers who will be attending vouching for invitees is not a bad plan, just be aware that only one "verification" isn't the world's greatest plan. Please be very careful that you temper your desire to have these parties and have them be well known enough for them to be "must see TV" with a cold, calculating eye on safety. Otherwise, there may be some version of the hated "white van across the street" in your future.
Have fun and be safe!

I got an unsolicited PM with all the details as well. Probably not a good idea to be inviting random people.

You are absolutely correct which is why I screen ever member before an invitation is given out. I have a pretty thorough process and haven't had any issues yet!
I do appreciate everyone's awesome insight. And Also I send out lots of invites but only actually accept a select few members, no matter how many rsvp.
Hopefully you can come sometime ;-)

well i apologize for the unsolicited invitation. I simply saw your reviews and thought it would be nice to have you there and potentially write a review of the party.
I really didn't think that receiving an invitation to a party would be considered a negative thing but what do I know. I'm only 4 months old in the hobby world. :-)

Oh, so this post from earlier is false?

If Bolt hasn't seen you or your friends, you just sent him an invite out of the blue. Which was exactly the reason the "spam" issue was raised.
Just own up to it: you wanted to throw a "hobby party" where you and your friends could make some money. You sent out a bunch of invitations to whoever "looked OK" or that had a review count. In concept, that's OK , except that we don't allow the PM system to be used that way. Lesson learned.
It's OK to be wrong about using the system. But lying about your method of invitation just looks worse.

There was no lie.. This is getting ridiculous. Either you have a lot of time on your hands or you really are just picking on me. Im not a bad person so this attack is unnecessary. I will be more selective about my invitation process from here on out.
Thank you for your concern.

Ariel. Do you think that some of these parties might be opened up to those of us that like to voyeur. I think it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall at one of your parties.
If a possibility drop me a PM.
