MArDI GrAs in New Orleans... ?!
It would be my first trip to New Orleans for business and I would love for any of you to give me some tips as to where is best to stay in and away from.
I would want to be able to see the party from my hotel room! How is downtown or is it a no go? Please do list your favorite resturants guys and girls feel free to comment as well.
So is Mardi Gras a good time for play... Just try to help a girl out !

I would suggest that if you want to play you get a room out of the city. This is only because if you get a room right next to the party 99% of hotel management will be checking each and every person that enters that hotel to see if they are a guest there. Makes it kinda hard to play......
Maybe around Kenner, or Metairie.

In addition, if you get a room where you can "see the party" from your hotel, no one who lives here will be able to get to you. People who are visiting & staying in the same part of town would, though. You have a choice: in the middle of everything, where you're kinda stuck, or ease-of-access, both for you & clients, which means, as has already been suggested, Metairie, but NOT FQ or CBD. Good luck! If it were me? I'd come to EITHER work OR have fun, but not both, during Mardi Gras.

That is pretty much what I was thinking... Work and Play... Work and Play. So prob somewhere near the area would be best for this type of crowd lol! Thanks for the location ideas.

Hello Darlin... getting a room with a view at this late date will be very difficult, if not impossible!! There may still be other rooms available downtown though... if enjoying the party of Mardi Gras is your main concern.
I doubt that you will get many local gents to play with, if you're staying downtown... traffic and parking will be a PIA! I dunno... you might get some tourist hits... screening would probably be more difficult for tourists... but not necessarily impossible.
If you're looking to work.... Metairie would be a better option.
But if you're looking to party... downtown is the place to be!
Guys & Girls... please do what you can, to welcome this Lil Jewel to New Orleans... she is one of my favorite playmates... drop dead gorgeous... fine as hell... super sweet... and she will show you a good time!

ILDA: Your concern for her being crowded is touching. When we think "soul of generosity" from now on, we'll think YOU!
Y'all have to stop bogarting the good ones in BR & Laffy anyway.

Never had a problem getting a room just before or on the big weekend before Madi Gras day. There is always a bunch of cancellations and two yrs ago was able to get two rooms for 3 nights (Sat, Sun, Mon) at a hotel on Burbon. Of course the price was not too reasonable and it's a gamble. Since I live in BR it's not too much of gamble as opposed to getting a room just before the big weekend then looking to book a flight, which will also not be at a reasonable rate.

I am coming to Mardi Gras but not working, just gonna have fun on Bourbon!
The nicer hotels are either sold out or extremely overpriced!
I would recommend Kenner area or Metairie or even baton Rouge
I wish ya luck and have fun babe!!

One other problem about working Mardi Gras... especially downtown... LE! It is heigthened during this time.
Stay in Metarie to work and go down to Bourbon to play.
