I feel so dumb, never thought about it until it happened!

So this morning I was doing my usual fluffy neon pink bath robe and fluffy leopard print slipper zombie routine around my apt. I made my protein shake and ate 2 handfuls of dry roasted peanuts, I did a quick roll up my sleeves thing to clean my shaker so I didn't get my robe wet. I drank my shake and nommed the nuts trying to get my shit together to go to the gym. I threw my robe on the middle of my bed and took off out the door. I came back, made my bed, shook my robe to fluff it, hung it in my closet, brushed my teeth, and showered getting ready for a date. I had a 3 hour date set with someone I had seen 3 times. Half way through the date cuddling and talking I look over at him and half of his face was swollen and he had hives on his arm on that side. I told him and he was like "Oh shit, I have no clue how that happened, I haven't been in contact with any peanuts!" I felt like such an asshole! The miniscule dust from me touching my robe and throwing it on the bed then shaking it gave him a huge reaction. He had me give him 2 benadryl, he showered, put on bug bite cream for the antihistamine on his face, and had me drive him home. The poor thing! I kept trying to give him back half of the donation and he wasn't having it because he never warned me about his allergy and that he feels he is partially responsible for it. I feel like such an idiot.
I now have a new procedure, TELL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY ALLERGIES!!!
I have asthma and a 25 pound cat with a head the size of a softball, seriously, her cat carrier is actually a small dog carrier... everyone calls her my bobcat. She gets brushed/vacuumed multiple times a week(Don't laugh! *Blushing* I trained her to like the brush attachment to the vacuum so it doesn't make a mess brushing her), my apt gets vacuumed and dusted multiple times a week, and I put fresh bedding on when someone is coming over so Gents allergic to cats never have a problem at my place. I just never thought about other allergies.

Are you sure that you don't secretly own my Cat? Or maybe its just a relative. He is a huge Monster sized animal. Not one of those "puff balls" from over eating. But a great big full of mussle Kitty. He does disappear outside for anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Is he spending them at your house? He is also a Calico with Green Eyes.

*giggles* That is awesome! I inherited her, trained her like a dog, and spoil her rotten, she has flown more than most people. My kitty only gets to go in my backyard on a harness and leash while I swim, she suns on the deck.
She is Himalayan and calico.
Okay done having my crazy cat lady moment.
Wd if you are ever in VA beach in the summer when I am I'll buy you a slice of the best peanut butter pie ever at the Jewish Mother. Its on me so you dont have to bust into your hobby, fried chicken, or rental bike funds.

After a bad experience on a blind date I now ask anyone I see about allergies. Gets me some strange looks but anything is better than watching someone go through an allergic reaction.

Lexxy, you had no way of knowing he was allergic to peanuts. I think you both handled it really well. You offered to give him back half of the donation and he declined because he never informed you he was allergic to peanuts shows how very classy you both are. Let alone the fact you drove him home.
