Someone needs to organize a foodie social where the invited guests each brings a homemade dish. Now that would be fun,all the recipes and talk of food has me craving something new to try in the foodie world

Have a good week end y'all and get you cook on!!!

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
Not silly at all... Sounds fantastic. Good food, beautiful woman and time spent. Perfect evening... Maybe a little dancing to complete the experience... Sorry lost myself in the fantasy.

..Then again I guess if wives figured that one out I might not be so busy anymore lol

I think that would be sexy ass hell.

Btw my opinion on your latin dishes:

Could be very sexy...and messy

Wow. There is a ex-husband kicking himself right now that he let you go Candi Staxx. But I guess we owe him thanks for being a dumbass since you may have never appeared on this lovely board if he didn't screw things up. You in Heels and Lingerie will run through my head. Very few things hotter, especially if Bacon is involved. Ha

Bailey, are you vegetarian? Vegan? Pescatarian? Here's some I like: sidedish

Curried Potatoes

Serves 8
Serve this dish on its own or with steamed rice.
  • 1 ½ Tbs. vegetable oil
  • 2 medium onions, diced (3 cups)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (1 Tbs.)
  • 4 large Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 3 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces (1 cup)
  • 3 Tbs. Madras curry powder
  • 1 15-oz. can black beans
  • 3 medium tomatoes, coarsely chopped (1 ½ cups)
  • 1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 2 jalapeño chiles, seeded and finely chopped (¼ cup)
  • 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar

1. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook 5 to 7 minutes, or until onions are soft and translucent. Stir in potatoes, carrots, and curry powder, and cook 4 minutes.
2. Add beans and their liquid, tomatoes, broth, jalapeño chiles, vinegar, and 1 cup water; season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 45 minutes, or until potatoes are flaky and carrots are cooked through, stirring occasionally.

Tofu Parmigiana

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 cup plain dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 14-ounce package firm or extra-firm water-packed tofu, rinsed
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons plus 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces white mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup prepared marinara sauce, preferably low-sodium
  • 1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • PREPARATION

  • Combine breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning in a shallow dish. Cut tofu lengthwise into 4 steaks and pat dry. Sprinkle both sides of the tofu with garlic powder and salt and then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, until beginning to brown, about 3 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until they release their juices and begin to brown, 4 minutes more. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the pan. Add the tofu steaks and cook until browned on one side, about 3 minutes. Turn over and sprinkle with Parmesan. Spoon the mushroom mixture over the tofu, pour marinara over the mushrooms and scatter mozzarella on top. Cover and cook until the sauce is hot and the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes. Sprinkle with basil and serve.

With Thanks giving coming up, this one is CAN'T MISS:

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

INGREDIENTS:
1 (12 pound) whole turkey
6 tablespoons butter, divided
4 cups warm water
3 tablespoons chicken bouillon
2 tablespoons dried parsley
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 tablespoons seasoning salt
DIRECTIONS:
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Rinse and wash turkey. Discard the giblets, or add to pan if they are anyone's favorites.2.Place turkey in a Dutch oven or roasting pan. Separate the skin over the breast to make little pockets. Put 3 tablespoons of the butter on both sides between the skin and breast meat. This makes for very juicy breast meat.3.In a medium bowl, combine the water with the bouillon. Sprinkle in the parsley and minced onion. Pour over the top of the turkey. Sprinkle seasoning salt over the turkey.4.Cover with foil, and bake in the preheated oven 3 1/2 to 4 hours, until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). For the last 45 minutes or so, remove the foil so the turkey will brown nicely.
