“There is a season for all things……”

These words were written by the wisest man of his time….. he went on to say that there is a time for everything under the sun.

I suspect, most of you will be surprised to read this. Some will be shocked and saddened, some will rejoice and some could care less.

It has come time for me to once again step away from our hobby world. I have done so twice before, and the hobby and the boards continued without me. ( I will say, that IMO, the climate in Austin ECCIE corner changed greatly when I stepped down the last time – however, I take into consideration that the other Austin mods all left shortly after my departure, and that the climate in a community is more the responsibility of its membership).


I debated leaving quietly or making a post of departing comments.

I felt I owed our community a few words upon my departure.


I asked the owners two years ago to stand up our corner of ECCIE and they did. I was the first mod here but by no means will be the last.

Every corner of our ECCIE family has its own personality. Each and every one of you has the ability to influence our family corner. That influence may be positive or negative.

That choice is yours to make as you post and the others to make as they choose to comment or remain silent.


My personal challenge to each of you is this:

1. To post what is true and fair.
2. To differentiate between fact and personal opinion.
3. To respect one another’s right to disagree.
4. To disagree without being disagreeable.
5. To treat one another as fellow human beings and not as property or possessions.
6. To refrain from being intentionally unkind or unruly.
7. To call out the bullshit as well as the bullshitters.
8. To complement one another.
9. To build the community.
10. To help when you can.
11. To be open and frank in your communication with one another.
12. To ignore the trolls

To those whom I may have offended, I offer my sincerest apologies.


Life is short and people are important.


With that, I wish you all the best.

I am comforted in knowing I leave you in good hands with Ranch and with one another.

It is certainly unexpected and unfortunate for our little corner of eccie. I truly appreciate all your hard work as a superb moderator and dedication to the hobby.
