That's a very interesting article. It makes perfect sense that Native American tribes would not want to bear the risk of environmental exposure without any upside potential. Oil companies typically want to keep a big chunk of the profits that result from their activities, but they want to spread around the cost of cleaning up any mess that results from those activities. That, my friends, is a tax, plain and simple.

Slitlikr, for the record, "this administration" didn't write the polices and procedures that address doing business with Native Americans (a) on a blank slate and (b) starting eight years ago. That barrel of Byzantine bullshit has been rolling down the hill for a long, long time.

The oil companies would only pay the Arabs a few dollars a barrel when the Middle East oil was getting started. Worse than the big pharmaceuticals.

Policies and procedures with native Americans ? Probably should go under the category of "treaties".Which the US government has not followed or broken too many times to count.
