You are better off buying one. How much you willing to spend?

Don't trade...someone could put something on your computer that could really mess up your life!

There are some nice refurbished computer shops...if really cheap and basic is what you want! Google or craigslist comes up with a lot! But know a little about computers or take someone when visiting refurbished stores...it's a hit or miss type thing!

Walmart has cheap ones, for a couple hundred bucks...brand new.

Buying used electronics usually ends up being a letdown. Putting that money towards a new one is usually the better deal.

What the hell are you talking about? Have you been doing Walt and Jesse's pop rocks?

Spyware/Malware. Keyloggers, dataloggers, browser hijackers. For starters. Some of these are pretty much impossible to get rid of.

Illegal content for a more advanced form of dirty tricks.

And a factory reset won't fix that? You're joking right?

You remind me of people 15 years ago. "I don't wanna buy stuff online. I wanna buy it in a store. I might get ripped off"

A factory reset won't get rid of even the most mild bugs. A hard disk wipe won't get rid of some of the more malicious bugs.

You sound really paranoid. Better not call any of these eccie ladies. Every single one is an undercover cop. Put down the pipe dude.

I doubt anyone that is asking about a used laptop would know how to detect anything on it or even do a clean install of an O/S so the warning is a good one.

I mean in this world anything is possible so to say someone is paranoid when they are just cautious is a bit much.

I know I could set up a notebook to log keystrokes, gain passwords and use that information to get free services or money.

I doubt any of that would happen but why take the chance.

Better not go trick or treat. Someone could put needles in the candy.
