My “government” insurance is accepted by far more doctors and other healthcare providers than my private plans ever were.
Currently Medicare on average pays less than costs for many services. For example, hospitals receive approximately 87 cents per dollar of costs for Medicare patients and make that up with the larger private care reimbursements.

Moving everyone to Medicare for all with anything resembling the current Medicare model would put many of the hospitals out of business immediately and many more would eventually close. Doctors reimbursements would also suffer in the current Medicare model if adopted to Medicare for all.

Germany has public health care that is funded by everyone contributing 8% of wage and employer contributing same. Government also places price on drugs and hospital stay. Seems o work well. Of course won't work here as drug lobby and politicians wont allow.

In regards to drug prices and many other aspects of medical innovation, it's just another example of the Europeans and much of the rest of the world riding the coattails of the US.

It's why I continue to be sickened by the left constantly pandering that other countries are successful with march towards socialism. It's not a fair comparison.
