Not to be a killjoy, but I have a hard time getting a laugh out of this. Reading it made me sad that my line of work is so marginalized that clients have their own careers affected by using our services or even as much as contacting us.

Hopefully one day that'll change and we won't be reading articles like this one.

Sadly, I have to agree. America is not a very progressive country.

Sounds like a lowlife, "under the covers" Mississippi State trick!
Him and Petrino should hook up and win a Nat'l Championship together!!

The humor, as usual, comes through the irony of the situation, as opposed to a person having their career destroyed. Given his hard core evangelical beliefs, it is likely he was condemning you as evil on Monday, while trying to set up an appointment for Tuesday.

This blurp is from a Freedom From Religion Foundation report on evangelism in college football.

"Mississippi head coach Hugh Freeze cares more about converting players than about winning, “When my life comes to an end, how much does that scoreboard really matter?” Jill Freeze, his wife, explained what Freeze really cares about: “His passion... is to use football to reach others for Christ.” Noted one article, “the lengths to which Freeze goes to inject Christianity into a major FBS program at a state university is striking, even in the heart of the Bible Belt.” Ken Smith, the first of the chaplains, said of Freeze: “He sees coaching as a ministry more than anyone I’ve ever met...”Freeze sees his position as head coach as a chance to win converts for Jesus, his team is the mission field, and his chaplain is simply a tool to help him accomplish those conversions."

I am just shocked he didn't try to claim it was trying to redeem their soul. Ironic it quotes his wife, who I am willing to bet will never accept any infidelity as okay, no matter how procured. I bet she was shocked to find that you could switch football for phone and Christ for sex in her blurb. Same reason Bobby Petrino went down. He was having an affair with someone not of the sexual professions and yet still had to resign.

Was he trying to procure an escort for himself, or was this for recruits? I thought it is believed that this was some kind of recruiting tactic to get kids to Ole Miss.
