I am still trying to figure out why deleteing ones messages would enable this process to start working. It did not work for me and I just did a test and should have gotten two emails and only got one.

My email is thru godaddy and works very well, seems like the site is having growing pains again

I am having the same problem.

I suppose we will have better chance getting the solution to our problem after the holiday?

Can anyone give a solution other than the ones already mentioned?

Please post here if you are having the same problem. It might help expedite the solution.

I don't like people thinking I am ignoring them. It's bad for business.

So I just tinkered with my settings. I unchecked all the notification option then save the changes.
Then I changed them back. It did work when I sent myself a pm to check.

Sadly I had to do this 2 weeks ago. It has happened in the past as well.

I've tried that and it doesn't seem to affect it too much. It happens off and on because I got the notification to this post and not the PM that popped up when I saw this post which was missed by the email.

Sometimes the posts notification isn't there and I see it updated while scrolling through the board.

Well, after doing some testing of my own this is what I have found.

  • The issue does not always occur.
  • For some PM's I receive I also receive email notifications. For others I do not.
  • So far there is no discernible pattern to indicate where the cause of the issue is located.
  • Intermittent issues such as this one are quite difficult to resolve.

For now, no resolution has been found. That is all I have at this time.

Thank you Mokoa, for saying something.
Another issue that has been very noticeable to a number of people is the database error message. Myself, I usually have 3 web browsers open at the same time for different things. Surprisingly, my dinosaur IE 8 will bring up the site quicker than the other browsers, SOMETIMES. I've tried many different things to see what the result would be. Exiting out of 2 of the three browsers, shutting my computer down and restarting it, after the restart I open a single browser and still get the database error message, checked for updates for Google Chrome and Firefox and both tell me I'm already using the most recent version.
I read where other members suggested using a different link to access the site, like if the national link had the error, trying opening a link to a different forum. Once again, the suggestion worked, but only a few times. Eventually none of the links in the browser search for eccie worked.
I can only imagine with a site this big and with all the activity here, that eccie may have outgrown the current servers.
Of course, I am FAR from an expert in things technical. I hope that there is not a serious issue with the site.

Yes, I have experienced the Database Error messages as well. When they start occurring, I leave the site alone and go back to it later.

You did not mention it, but have you tried clearing your browser's cache, cookies and Temporary Internet File areas?
